What does it mean to use 'Tab' then q ? maybe a solution to the alternative casting could be to use a modifier key? Like using SHIFT to change regular mouse1 attack to Strong attack? Scripts allow this ?

i think you misunderstood me, de1ta0ne. what i hoped for "instant casting" with a controller is for it to work like this: http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/126/?
so if you press left trigger + X it's aard, if you hold left trigger+X it's alternative aard. if you press left trigger+right bumper it's igni, if you hold left trigger+right bumper its fire strem... etc etc. this way if you use a controller you dont need to select sign through the menues. you cant them by holding left trigger+another button.

I do not know if I am the only one, the sign cast fine but the alternative mode can not be used.
