Used a script comparer, diffcheck, to compare the differences between the next-gen files and the files this mod changed. Merged them in favour of the next-gen scripts, compiled them and installed the altered mod via W3MM. It seems to be working again and I haven't encountered any issues. Let me know your thoughts.
Hi Achronos, don't know if you are still playing the game & have updated this mod for 4.4 for your own playthrough, but if so, would you mind sharing again please? Obviously, only if you are updating for yourself already of course. Cheers.
Hey, I haven't played in a while, since Jan. Is the mod no longer working for 4.04? I tried opening the game just now, and I got a script compiling error and the game won't open. I'm too swamped with work to analyse my mods and fix the errors now. But I'll endeavour to make some time on the weekend to have a look.
Alright, so I spent the last hour or two making sure all my mods were updated, compiled correctly and compatible with 4.04. Didn't touch my updated Steal Everything mod and launched a new game to check. I saw no issues at all. It appears to be 4.04 compatible.
It's not even consistent. You can scour the entirety of Crows Nest without the guards so much as twitching, however there are two containers next to the main gate that is watched over by a single guard who never moves and will cut you down if you dare lay your hands on the *checks notes* broken rake...
The guard and that broken rake went everywhere together. They played together as children. The rake was the guard's best man at his wedding. Don't you touch that fucking rake.
When I checked my Steal Everything mod file, which I think is from the link Achronos provided, I found that the tutorialmanager.ws file is not up-to-date with the latest game version of that file. I haven't checked however what is inlcuded in the download if you use the link now. There is a new mod anyway for disabling the stealing mechanics that is based on 4.04: https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/8854
Works great :) Now I can get the dopamine high for manually finding and looting every item without getting caught in a wild goose chase every other chest
thank you for this mod. everytime i press A on the controller i collect some items instead of running ....so the guards hates me... this mod fixed it for me : )
I haven't really done mods for the game before, but it works in my game (1.31, all DLCs, Steam version). Any side effects (if there are any unintended ones I haven't notice) should be the same as with the original mod. It works in the exact same way.
Shameless Plug: My mod has this feature in it too. I only say that because it seems the author might be away. Either way, I used the hell out of this mod, and it's 2 files, so I updated for the community.
I had complications with your mod. Drowners underwater were invincible to crossbow bolts when it should one shot them if they are not too high level. My friend also had a similiar problem with your mod, he couldnt do damage to a vampire. All this fixed when we both removed your mod. We only had your mod installed, I personally only had the allow stealing option ON. His game version was steam, mine was from GOG.
I fixed this for patch 1.21, you can get it at: https://onedrive.live.com/download?resid=6B265E09BE4F2E3!1371&authkey=!AJ9cAXpj3HNaw1k&ithint=file%2czip
Maybe its because Im also using Autoloot but Im still getting attacked with your fix, used to not be an issue. Merged everything, no problems starting the game, but guards aggro. :/
wich autoloot do you use? the loot all items or the no accidental stealing? i think the problem is in the first one because autoloot change something or i dont know, i have the same problem too with the all items autoloot, so i will try the no accidental stealing and see if that works
Edit: yep that was the problem, now i can loot with guards near and they dont bother
If you use autoloot/autolootmerged, You have to comment out or delete 2 lines of code in LootPopup.ws.
Make sure the // are at the beginning of lines 1025, and 1026. //theGame.GetBehTreeReactionManager().CreateReactionEventIfPossible( thePlayer, 'LootingAction', -1, 10.0f, -1.f, -1, true); //theGame.GetBehTreeReactionManager().CreateReactionEventIfPossible( thePlayer, 'StealingAction', -1, 10.0f, -1.f, -1, true);
Is the localization patch updated? I love AVS (Advanced Video Settings and for some reason it has built in localization patch. I updated it all to 1.22. Don't know if that helps at all though.

Normal into the game, but there is no effect. QAQ
edit: (normal npcs ignore stealing for me, but guards react and attack)
