Script Compilation Errors after Updating to Patch 1.12? Read this.
Spoiler:
Show
Seems like CDPR has provided bad script sources again on some download platforms for patch 1.12. This seems to be a reoccurring theme, unfortunately. :/
If you are seeing complilation errors like these...
Error [content0]game\player\playerwitcher.ws(14: Function 'LogWithName' does not take 1 param(s) Error [content0]game\gameplay\focus\focus.ws(199): Function 'LogWithName' does not take 1 param(s) Error [content0]game\gameplay\focus\focus.ws(253): Function 'LogWithName' does not take 1 param(s) Error [content0]game\gui\menus\gwintgamemenu.ws(104): Function 'LogWithName' does not take 1 param(s)
or these...
Error [modimmersivecam]game\player\r4player.ws(10149): Unknown type 'W3Effect_Oil' for property 'oil'. Error [modimmersivecam]game\player\r4player.ws(10167): Unknown type 'W3OilBuffParams' for property 'oilParams'. Error [modimmersivecam]game\player\r4player.ws(10201): Unknown type 'W3Effect_Oil' for property 'oil'. Error [modimmersivecam]game\player\r4player.ws(10224): Unknown type 'W3Effect_Oil' for property 'oil'.
It is probably a bad script source folder.
Download the 'patch 1.12 script sources for players having problems compiling any script mods' from the miscellaneous files download.
Then delete your ...\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\content\content0\scripts folder (make a backup copy of it first though, just in case).
Unpack and copy the scripts folder from the download into ...\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\content\content0.
Now clear out your mods folder and only add in one script mod (No More Rolling Down Stairs) and try to reload the game. If the game compiles and runs fine, you can start adding in your other mods one at a time (as long as those mods have been updated for patch 1.12). At some point, you may have to run Script Merger to combine some of your script mods. But, if you made it that far, your problem with script sources is resolved and you just follow the normal procedures for combining mods with Script Merger. Good luck!
ElementaryLewis is incorrect. The NextGen version does not incorporate this mod, and the rolling down stairs still issue still persists. Also confirmed that this mod still works fine even though it has not been updated for 4.0
Sorry ElementaryLewis, I really don't care about the updated scripts that you already posted above. I care about my Geralt rolling down stairs like a moron. We are playing the game, not staring at scripts for fun, right?
Go to the little staircase by the blacksmith and armorer at Kaer Trolde. I tested it 10 times consecutively to be sure it was not an intermittent/randomly occurring issue. Without the mod, Geralt fell and rolled in all 10 instances. With the mod applied, he fell 0/10 times. Therefore, the mod still has value and works as advertised. If you don't believe me, try it out for yourself.
The Next Gen does a different fix than this mod. It's not a perfect fix since you can still roll when running. But at least the "roll" mecanism when falling isn't disable.
If you wish to disable the roll at all, I can update this mod.
I don't think there are enough words to thank you for this. This mod is one of the most helpful for not breaking the immersion.
I mean, that ridiculous detail of Geralt rolling down the stairs every time... Agh! It completely took me out of the atmosphere of the game. But not anymore.
In short, thank you very much. Amazing and efficient solution! Endorsed!

This mod has been integrated, even Youtuber like xLetalis or Neon Knight, confirm the fix is present.
You can even find the script changed there:

Also, as reminder:
Worked mod doesn't mean it's Next Gen Compatible. Only if the vanilla files haven't been Updated!!
