So I attempted to reach out to Kaang personally to see if he could update his mod to no avail. I went into his mod file and noticed the changes he made to the scripts were very miniscule. I was able to update his mod for next gen and I uploaded it giving him full credit. Works perfectly for me so far.
I used to often apply Quen when approaching human enemies, so that possible archers wouldn't hit Geralt just because he didn't realize there were enemies nearby. No more.

It's horrible so close you have to be to lock on enemies and start combat, after coming from Elden Ring
