Thx you for this tutorial, great job there!.I wanted to change the combat music as you but i could not finish the tutorial. https://youtu.be/EkVxya3vwp8?t=15m10s . got stucked there, when you have to make a cued file running the "prepare_wave.bat" for me is not working, does not make nothing : (. I tryed changing the names of the rute files without spaces, without _ or - , nothing worked, the script "prepare_wave.bat" is not working for my ".wav file" :/. do you know whyy?
In case y'all are still trying, I found two things that caused this issue for me:
The WAV file, that is your new music, still has metadata. To clear that metadata, (if you're using Audacity) when you export the song as WAV and the "Edit Metadata Tags" window pops up, click "Clear" and that should remove all metadata. Also make sure that prior to this, your WAV is saved as "Signed 16/24/32-bit PCM". Then hit save and do the rest. (If you're using any other program?, just use common sense to remove metadata before saving as WAV PCM. There should be options there to unclick or something. If you're still unsure, just use Audacity.)
Your .py extension files aren't being opened by Python by default. I found that mine was being opened by Notepad++ which just shows me the code of the script rather than start it. To change this, right click on any .py file (prepare_wave.py/compare_wem.py/create_sounds_cache.py), click 'Open with' and choose "Python.exe".
Some other people mentioned that it only worked when they downgraded their Python to 2.6/2.7, but I personally didn't need to do that. If the issue persists for you, maybe you should try it.
As a last resort, when things still aren't working, maybe try not to use the .bat file and just start the script from the native Command Prompt. To do this:
Open command prompt.
Select the drive where the "prepare_wave.py", "compare_wem.py", and other .py files (those from the sound editing tools) are located. Mine was in D: drive so I typed in "D:".
Direct to the exact location of these .py files by pasting in the directory after "cd". For example I typed in "cd APPLICATIONS\TW3Modding\Sound\batches" without the quotation marks.
Make sure that the WAV file which will be the new music is also in the aforementioned folder so things will be easier. If it's not in the same folder, my instructions won't work.
Type in "prepare_wave.py <newmusicname.wav> 0", with the name of your WAV file inside <>. Remove quotation marks and the <>, then hit enter. For example: prepare_wave.py NewCombatMusic.wav 0
That should work, and if it didn't then the world is going to end in 2025.
thank you so much for this senpai it worked for me (GUYS TRY DOWNGRADING TO 2.7 first and hopefully it will work its the only solution that worked for me on windows 10)
yea thanks for the tips but it just refuses to work. I tried running the others too (even though I'm stuck at the prepare_wave.py) and they don't work either. do you have any idea what could cause it?

Same issue, neither batch files nor python scripts don`t work. All i can get is this message in command prompt: "Usage: prepare_wave.py <FILE> [COUNT] " ?(same with other scripts, only fields with "usage"). Usind Python 2.7, Windows 11.
mate, the only song i want to replace is "steel for humans", can you tell me how could i know which one from all those files opened in notepad++ is that one that i'm looking for? i have no idea how to find the correct one. thanks in advance
The CDPR websites appear to all be down at the moment, including the forums. Do you have an alternative link from where the Sound Editing Tools can be downloaded?
yeah i was worried it was just me - uhhhhh i you know what i can try to package all them up the way i did in the videos and hopefully their authors will understand the extenuating circumstances. i'll be back with a link
this link should work for the sound editing tools. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9Zp954Xgw4JWHdMOU53ckpQOFU/view?usp=sharing. at first read i thought you needed everything but i remembered quickbms is on the nexus. do you need the quickbms64?
Hi man do you take requests ? I use a mod that disables exploration music but that also disables the music played by some bards so it would be cool if they played gwent music just like the other 90 % bards in the game.
