I'd guess that the author tagged it this way because of all the options.
As can be seen in the description, the author considers some to be cheats, so they'd be unbalanced one way in the author's opinion. one or 2 to be balanced and the last to be a challenge, maybe enough for it to be unbalanced the other way.
For myself I finally settled on a value that meant my gold increased at about the same rate that it would if I sold all the weapons and junk, instead of dismantling it all, which I do just to keep merchant inventories cleaner. I'd say my set up is 'Fair and balanced' for me.
Edited: I've got this and like it. Wasn't sure at first but tinkering around with the cost I got to a value that works for me.
My reason for downloading the mod was simple. I like to loot everything but don't like merchants having dozens of swords in their inventories. I tried mods to clear weapons from merchant inventories but they didn't work for me. I started dismantling everything instead of selling...
... one problem with this approach is that it's not affordable. I have to add money via the console to compensate. Simply selling some of the dismantled components back still results in a drain in gold: just not quite as much.
Now that I've used this mod for a while I love it: Enough to endorse it, that's for sure.
Hey, thanks for the mod. I will use the 1per version, and here's my reasoning: I heavily roleplay and for example don't just pick up any and all parts and ingredients I come by, but only those I know I need for my current project and very valuable stuff you could reasonably expect to sell to a merchant for a bit of coin on the side. But when thinking about dismantling, to me it's either A) the material dismantled from my old pants and used to craft the new ones represent how my old pants are actually just being "upgraded" a bit or B) I'm dismantling something myself, actually, like some monster parts or hides. Since Geralt knows how to extract brains and skin beasts, apparently, it's only reasonably to expect him to know how to rip a goat hide into smaller pieces ... My two cents :D
To change the value edit values of line 85 and 86 of "\Mods\modCheaperDismantling-20C\content\scripts\game\gui\_old\components\guiDisassembleInventoryComponent.ws" Fx if you want it to cost 10, like i wanted change the two values as such:

Fx if you want it to cost 10, like i wanted change the two values as such:
flashObject.SetMemberFlashInt("actionPrice", 10);
flashObject.SetMemberFlashInt("actionPriceTotal", itemQuantity * 10);
Thanks
