Hi, I tried to use your fixer but every time i get the same error
    [pl.mar3k.Main.main(Main.java:50)]
    any help please?
I can`t upgrade to 1.30 as it says the patch doesn`t support my game`s version, so your mod maybe my only chance to six things!

High, I been really busy lately. I'll have look and update the mod.

If it says that the patch does not support your game version you might want to try and install the patches one by one.

      //Edit:

If the patch does not want to install you might already have it installed or at least some of it's files and it fails because of it. If you do not have a limited internet you might re-download the game from GOG Galaxy and then run the patcher.

If however you prefer to use the GOG patchers (Not the gog galaxy ones), you should install the patches in the right order, or get a 1.0 to 1.31.0 which is the latest GOG Version for the GOTY version. (1.30.0 is the latest Steam version)

      //Edit 2:

Ok I've update the app to support both version 1.30.0 and 1.31.0 of GOG release. You should note that it does not install the new patch just updates the game scripts, and fixes in-game bugs that were introduced by the GOG Installers.

As for the error it appears that it's caused by read and write permissions of you The Witcher 3 Directory, as it is simply can't move files. Try to skip the backup process, and see if there will be an error.
It the error will still persist check if the app has access to the directory.

I`ve version 1.22, i tried to upgrade to 1.24 automatically but it couldn`t because of the same error, I tried to install the patches manually by downloading the patches, also no effect and the same error.
I skipped 1.24 and tried to install 1.30 but the same situation happens!
As for the mod, I`ve put the files where the witcher3.exe is as you instructed. and i tried to skip the backup and hit N Yet the same error occurs.

Nah man not where the exe is but in the root directory. Root directory is a place where your application is installed, no need to navigate to bin or other directories.

As for the stuck patch, I've had this issue before, if you wan't I can take a look and prepare a patch for you that'll update your game or allow you to install updates, but as of today I have limited internet speed (64kb/s) because I reached my data cap. I'll be able to do it in two days.

The easiest way to fix your issue is to download a GOTY edition, form either GOG Galaxy or normal GOG, if you are not bound by any internet data caps. (GOTY edition is just a normal game with DLC's and latest patch).

Also as a side note if you're using GOG Galaxy you can do this:

      1. Close Galaxy
      2. Go to W3 install folder
      3. Delete goggame-galaxyFileList.cfg and goggame-1207664643.info
      4. Start Galaxy

After that you should be able to update your game.

// EDIT: Seems like the error is caused by a corrupted The Witcher 3 Executable file, so restoring the original executable file should be the first thing you do after the above solution fails.

Will this fix any problems with my being able to run mods in version 1.22? You see since I've upgraded to version 1.22 I tried updating my mods and none of them will run.

If you choose to install the updated Scripts it will surely help with the Script compilation during the startup.

However if the mods that you're using aren't compatible with 1.22 there can be errors during the compilation.

If WinRar says the archive is corrupted you need to update to WinRar 5+. Older versions won't open this file.

Check if you have java installed. Also run the cmd file not .jar file.

If you cant decompress the .rar file you need winrar

Actually I get an error when I try to open the .RAR file. As if it`s corrupted.

But the manual instructions worked. I didn`t even know the mutagens icons were changed :-D

Yeah, i packed it as rar5 with 100% recovery data. Your winrar might be outdated.

I'm glad that you figured it out using the manual method.

That thread that someone linked recommends deleting the following files because they are not present in the Galaxy version:

    content\patch1\rupc.w3speech
    content\patch1\plpc.w3speech
    content\patch1\jppc.w3speech
    content\patch1\frpc.w3speech
    content\patch1\depc.w3speech
    content\patch1\brpc.w3speech

However if someone is playing a Non-English version, deleting those files will mute all speech, so if you added these to the list of files to delete, you might want to REVERT that.

I'm playing a non-english version of the game and I have all the audio in both dlc's and base game with those files deleted. Also the application backups all the files before removing them.

The missing audio is caused by missing .w3speech files in the patch0 directory.

If that's the case then content\patch1\enpc.w3speech shouldn't be required either?

That wasn't on the guy's list.

I do not have any w3speech files in my patch1 directory all the w3speech files are located in my patch0 directory. Currently I'm playing the Blood and Wine DLC (Just finished the HoS) and I had zero issues with audio.

      // EDIT:

I just deleted all the w3speech files from patch0 directory and I still had the audio.

I found out that in order to reproduce the bug you have to delete w3speech files from the DLC/bob or DLC/ep1 or any DLC/DLC* directories.

So you were right w3speech files located in patch0 and patch1 can be left alone.

The code will no longer delete the w3speech files from patch1.

Also the streaming.cache file from content4 directory is used by in-game cutscenes and it's absence can cause stutters during cutscenes, it it's also excluded from the application. (The file is missing only in GOG Galaxy version of the game, which is really odd and developers have yet to comment on this)

      Thanks for your help.

Add the please unpacked version of the file replacement , and then your installer is not working

I just triple checked if the installer is working, and in fact it does what it should do. Are you running .jar instead of RUN_PATCHER.cmd because that's no longer going to work.

I'll upload the updated scripts, and instructions on how to fix it manually if that's what you want.

I just uploaded all the files that you requested.

Also the application has to be executed by the 'RUN_PATCHER.cmd' script. You can't just double click the 'The Witcher 3 - GOG Patcher Fix.jar' as it won't open the console.

Another reason as to why my app could not be working is because you might not have a Java installed on your PC, or you're placing the files in a wrong directory. Anyway, now you should be able to do everything manually.

A godsend fix! Thanks for the effort. I've been practically dissecting my Witcher 3 game directory just to fix those erroneous perk descriptions, never realizing that the GOG installers themselves are somewhat inherently flawed. Endorsing this wholeheartedly.
