This mod allows to choose the alcohol Geralt uses to replenish his alchemical components and stop using Alcohest all the time.
Description
Normally, Geralt uses the cheapest strong alcohol (raw market value) to refill alchemical components when meditating. This is usually Alcohest. While Alcohest is not the rarest of loot to find, it is used for crafting recipes and can dry up quickly when meditating often, while Geralt collects a surplus of other alcohols, like dwarfen spirit. With this mod, you can cycle through all available alcohols and choose the one to be used to refill alchemical components.
Note: Initially, no alcohol is selected and attempting to refill alchemical components yields the message, that no alcohols are available. Cycle at least once to select the alcohol you want to use.
Features
Cycle through available strong alcohols and choose which one to use for refilling alchemical components (default hotkey: F3)
Display the currently chosen alcohol (default hotkey: F6)
Get a notification when a refill process used up the last alcohol of the selected type
When the selected alcohol runs out, refilling alchemical components will fail (no waste of random other alcohols)
Selected alcohol is saved in the savegame and will preserve through game restarts
Configuration and Localization
In the mod folder of the archive, navigate to "modChooseRefillAlcohol\content\scripts\local" and open the file "AlcConfig.ws" in a text editor (preferably Notepad++). Scroll down to the documented area and change the values as desired. Most settings are the message texts displayed after various actions that can also be used for localization purposes.
Installation
Copy the folder "modChooseRefillAlcohol" into the mods folder of your Witcher 3 installation (<installDir>/mods — create folder if not present) and follow the instructions in the other text files to configure the hotkeys. Afterwards, launch the script merger and solve any possible conflicts.
Compatibility
Should be compatible with everything as long as the Script Merger is used. Using the tool, I had no conflicts to other popular mods, i.e. the script merger is able to do all the work automatically and no further interaction was required than clicking next/OK. One of the modified files (playerWitcher.ws) is used in many mods and not using the Script Merger will almost certainly lead to problems on a slight to medium modded game.
This mod is also compatible with the exploration meditation from Friendly HUD and will be compatible with every mod that uses the predefined method to determine which alcohol to use for refilling alchemical components.
Similar mods to this one: Refill Alcohol Selection — This mod changes the algorithm that determines the refill alcohol to use the one that is most available (highest quantity in inventory) instead of using the cheapest one (default behavior)
