How do I uninstall this? I used it for the Better Call Ciri mod but then when I got in a boat in Skellige I can't make the boat move forward. I tired adding commands under Boat for MoveUp and MoveForward but I don't think that's what it's called. I'd honestly rather be able to use a boat again over playing as Ciri.
This program doesn't work. I applied a patch from the More Quick Slots mod to input.settings using this program and checked afterward to see if it applied. It did not. Nothing was changed and no back up file was created as the program claimed. Will be deleting and just manually applying keybinds like usual.
One change I noticed with this very handy tool. The "Get Vanilla Input.Settings File" button, creates an outdated version, since the Blood and Wine expansion released. I have all DLC and v1,2,1 of the main game. I don't know if this is only for Blood and Wine, so hears how to fix it for any setup.
Manual Method, with comparison options
Press the "Get Vanilla Input.Settings File" button, which, backs up your current file, (adds.bak extension, if you have multiple .bak2, .bak3, etc.highest number, is last backup (Check date created in preferences to make sure).
Navigate to your User folder for Witcher 3 (save games folder) Default Path where {YOUR USER NAME} is replaced with the user name you chose. C:\Users\{YOUR USER NAME}\Documents\The Witcher 3
[Options, only pick one of these]
Rename input.settings, anything will do, e,g. Patcher input.settingsif you want to compare the files, and see if and/or what differences occur, see recommended comparison method, or use your own preference.
Simply delete input.settings, if you just want to get the correct file.
Start the game to automatically generate a new vanilla file.
Recommended Comparison Method Get latest version of Notepad++ from here Notepad++
Once installed open the two files you wish to compare in Notepad++ and Navigate to Plugins Menu Select Plugin Manager, select the Compare plugin and install. With the two files side by side in the last two tabs, select the last tab Navigate to the plugins menu and point mouse at the compare plugin, opens more options window. Select compare (or Clear results to return to single window mode when done)
It's quite well setup as default, but Notepad++ (And compare plugin) have many options. Many mod creators, and other coders use this powerful tool, but that's all you need as a user. Other text editors exist, but Notepad++ is free and suits
Changes I have in my files
Note:
I added spoiler tags here, but it won't expand on the Posts Tab, so full length is unavoidable
In patcher version, but not in game version where all [HEADING] listed above changes, all have the changes applied.
Think you can manage on doing something for the input.xml file also?
Like, if people don't set input.settings to read only and the input.xml is not set correctly, the non-default keybindings will be wiped. Ultimately not working the binding set, but if this patcher could create in input.xml the needed lines along with the actions would solve 99% of the complaints mod authors(like me) have with users saying keybindings not working.(Actually the 99% being user fault...)
Thank you for this, as you now I left a comment on your Absolute Camera mod asking for something similar to this. I hope you don't mind but I still need some help with this.
So I understand how the tool works and i can easily pick the key i want to use for the bind, but I have no idea of any of the action names. So I am hoping you could tell me what they are?
I'm after the following action names to go with your Absolute Camera mod.
1. set camera mode to normal under Normal Exploration 2. set camera mode to off under Normal Exploration 3. set camera mode to normal under Exploration Sprint 4. set camera mode to off under Exploration Sprint 5. set camera mode to normal under Interiors 6. set camera mode to off under Interiors
If you could help me with those I would be forever grateful
Please can you let me know witch file it is? so I can find out? I did look in the Input.Settings file but that a list of what's already binded and I could not find the commands I'm after.
Please help me out im really desperate to get theses commands binded to a key. it would be of great help.
