Bad work with contrast, too much of yellow, definetely not the Ubersampling (although that tech is very-very perfomance cost even on nowdays hi-end system) All in all think twice before downloading this preset.
Okay, I've tried everything I can think of to try to get this to work. However, every time I launch the game, it just never works. I heard that it sometimes doesn't work with Windows 8.1, but I have Windows 7. I know the game is not all that well optimized for AMD video cards, but I don't think that's the issue either. Really, I couldn't care less if the colors are more vibrant, I just want this game to have some better anti-aliasing. I've tried turning off all game overlays and I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. But nothing works. I've asked around a bit, but nobody seems to know what's wrong.
Vanilla games already over contrasted and your profile adds two dose of contrast (curves and dpx). Dark areas such as the inn in Vergen look almost black now. I don't have the game's bloom on though, maybe that's offbalancing your profile... IDK...
obviously something is editing the preset txt file automatically. Never seen this before with sweetfx. Quite strange. I had no such issue with mine and I was able to edit the file while the game was running and the SweetFX updates it automatically.
You can always make the file uneditable via NTFS permissions. After editing it. Select SweetFX_settings.txt, right click, select properties, go to security tab, click advanced, clivk Change Permissions button, uncheck include inheritable permissions...., click Add when the prompt comes up, select everyone, uncheck create files / write data (or check deny), hit ok, hit apply. To make it editable again: check create files / write data (or uncheck deny). At this point, that file is not going to change.
Lol that's very simple. g. Go to rivatuner for either one. First make sure to add the game to the list then select it then click on the gear then check enable compatibility with modified d3d runtime libraries. USED TO BUG ME BEFORE TILL I VISITED THEIR SITE THE DISCRIPTION IS ON SWEETFX WEBSITE. HOW DO YOU LIKE IT? ENJOY
hey icarus.. i just used this sweetfx of yours.. question,,, now when i try to remove the sweetfx on my folder, then when i try to put it back again, why is that the splitscreen won't show anymore despite on sweetfxsettings, it is set to 1.... ????????
Had to figure out how to remove splitscreen but other than that simple enough to use. (instructions were posted by someone else below)
It does make a nice difference, with no added performance lag. It looks better than using just the game's default gfx options that's for sure (this looks smoother than default AA+Ubersample imo).
Although I'm just starting the game there tends to be a bit too much over saturation/contrast going on, a little too dark+glowy. During the tutorial level for instance he glows like a neon lightbulb haha I'm not even joking, but once getting into the actual game however it's not as extreme and looks pretty great.
Thx for this. With just the default settings on max (apart from sampling, that slowed it down too much) it still looked kind of bad to me, this made it pretty+playable.
Slight update to this after playing further into the game.
I figured out how to use SweetFX for myself and did some of my own tinkering to remove the over exaggerated effects/colors, just download SweetFX Configurator from somewhere and you can play around with it if it's a little overdone on your screen (all screens are different, these settings tended to be too much for mine in certain areas)
This youtube video helped explain how to use the configurator (although I downloaded the files from the official source): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaE7Qotn5Jc

Whoops: Figured it out.
NOTE: the side monitors aren't fully blacked out. There just seems to be some sort of circle filter centered on the center screen.
