The green mist is still present. I never liked to use the SweetFX or Reshade stuff, they never work for me since I do not see any effect applied, and installation processes are sometimes confusing or has a lot of steps to deal with, such as "downlaod this, download that, download 5 other bs stuff, and then you can do this, and only then it works"... Too much crap to go through for little. As a simple user I just want to download it and be done with it, it should simply work.
I had errors at first, but I dealt with them and corrected, so I have no issues with mods...it simply doesn't work.
Plus, when I throw it all in the System folder, game can't launch anymore with error, but when it's all in the default install location, then it's fine, but it doesn't work.
UPDATE: Alright, I got the fog to work, it's now at least more "white" than the green which resembled toxic cloud, but the rest of the visual stuff is not present. Do I need to do something myself or it should've applied automatically all the visuals like in the screenshots?
Hi! Don't know if you're still playing but figured this out for anyone who's still being troubled by this. Go to your system folder in main game directory. Right-click witcher.exe and navigate to Properties>Compatibility. From there you need click on "Change settings for all users" and uncheck compatibility mode. That got it working for me.
Hi, I installed your preset and it looks great BUT whole gamescreen is blurry, starting from the intro video. When I turn SweetFX off in the game, vanilla colour return and everything is sharp again. Do you know why ?
Hi, i have same blur effect. But, i found in SweetFXSetteings parameter #define USE_CA1 //[0 or 1] Chromatic Aberration : Mimics the look of a cheap camera lens, by distorting the colors. And disable it (0). I save good colors, but mostly disable blur.
So... Which is the final solution ?? Deactivate the SMAA, the CA... Or it's nice putting values under 1 ? for example.. 0.50 ? Excuse my ignorance but I've never tweaked this ini
i can't get the reshade/sweetfx to work. when i install it in the system folder and start the game it crashes immediately. i ran it as administrator but that didn't solve it either. it runs if i remove the d3d9.dll file from the folder but then it doesn't really run the sweetfx i think. is there a solution for it?

Learned about it from Carinth01. He has some excelletn tutorials regarding this issue on his mod page for his own preset at Reshade with SweetFX for The Witcher at The Witcher Nexus - mods and community (nexusmods.com). Hope this helps!
Is there any chance you can link to a place that still provides these files?
download it here, but you need to registrer

it can be fixed by disabling (setting to 0) #define USE_SMAA and #define USE_CA
edit: it seems that CA (Cromatic Aberration) has lesser part in this effect
so instead of disabling it completely you can lower its strength by setting #define Chromatic_strength to value lessser than default 1.0
