Tbh it took a bunch of figuring out myself to do since I'm unfamiliar with modding UE4 games but roughly these are the steps.
Unpack Hk_project-WindowsNoEditor.pak and find the target files you want to replace in the Stray paks folder
Determine the target project unreal version (4.27.2.0 in this case) and download that through the epic launcher
Create a new blank project with that version
Create a folder structure mimicking what's in the Stray original files in the editor (/Hk_project/Content/Sounds/SFX/character/cat/miaous/comeon/*) and import your new sound files into the content browser in your unreal project, then save those files
Disable creating a pak file in the unreal editor project settings, and then go to pack your files, which will just build the .uasset and .uexp files in the above structure
Create a response file which details what files for UnrealPak to pack and where to mount them (e.g. "C:\temp\aaaaaa\extracted\*" ../../../Hk_project
Build the pak file with UnrealPak
Put that new pak file you made into the Stray paks folder and test it!
Few Questions @gibrietas: 1. If I try to make a Blank Project, it always makes a 3d Environment, is that normal? If not, how do I open one that isn't 3d? 2. If I try to save it, it always creates a "Level" Layer, even if I delete every 3d bit there is. How do I stop that? 3. When trying to Pack it, it fails with an "Unknown Error" any idea why? 4. Is UnrealPak a separate program or something integrated into UE4? If not, where can I find it? . What exactly do you mean with your 4th point? Does one Create that Folder structure when originally making the Blank Project, e.g. in the little field labeled: "Select a Location for your Project to be stored" or somewhere else?
Edit: 1., 2., 3. and 5. have been answered. I found out about UnrealPak, but I'm not sure which source I can thrust for a download, do you mind sharing yours?
