I'm new to the mod stuff so forgive me if I say something stupid but here goes. Would love a DeepSeeker helmet skin for my mantis helmet rather than replacing the mantis helmet with the DeepSeeker helmet.
Hey dude, I love this colour! The outfit colouring works, but doesn't seem to add the helmet after dropping the optional file into the mygames/starfield folder.
Yo, cheers for the feedback my good chap! The optional helmet is for the Deepseeker Helmet only (not the Mark 1 helmet, not currently got my head round replacers - may even wait for the mod kit), are the textures not showing up for the Deepseeker Helmet?
I'm also having issues getting this mod to work. I created my custom.ini file and followed the steps. I used vortex to download it. I don't have too many mods so it can't be conflicting with anything. I have the steam version of the Premium Edition.
Yo, have y'all setup the INI as in the description? Also check your file isn't ".ini.txt" as this will prevent it from doing the do - you might need to enable see file extensions in your File Explorer to double check this.
Vortex should work if the INI is sorted, as this file is in the same format as others, but if this fails I would recommend manually dragging and dropping the unzipped mod into your "My Games/Starfield" folder. Might be I need to fix something in the path, but I've had few folks mention this for my other mods which makes me think it is working okay.
I only use the manual install myself for modding purposes, only real difference with a retext/recolour is when the mod updates you have to update manually (overwriting or deleting previous files). Hope this works for you guys, lemme know how you get on.
Quick question for you, boss. Are these just recolors or are you making changes to the metal and roughness as well? I'm looking to make my own minor edit to the Mark 1 and am using yours as an inspiration.
Sup big boss, from your other two mods I think I see where you might go with this (only dawned on me making this dark version how much like the Prey outfit this could look with the right colours - aesthetic of Prey is dope)... Will stay tuned for the results!
I've only made some minor edits to the metal and rough files for:
Those gold connector thingys
The edges of the belt buckle
The gold circle doohickey on the pack.
To get started, I found this post on reddit that explains what values to turn up/down for the rough/metal values - and once they're dialled in it's a case of tuning the colour to look right in the color file (seems to look more metallic with lighter colours, but I really only looked at light colours too so can't speak to what black might look like with the same rough/metal values).
Excellent! Incidentally, that exact reddit post is what spurred this on. Appreciate you responding so quickly. I actually wasn't thinking about a Prey edit but now I'm going to have to play around with that. Keep on, keeping on, brother 🤙

Please checkout my other mod RTM's Spacesuit Mark 1 Spacesuit - Light!
EDIT: I managed to get it to work. By copying the textures folder into the Data folder located within the area where you need to create the INI file.

By realistic I'm meaning the olive drab colors with like the Big Red 1 patch, or something along those lines.
I wanted to make it myself but that reddit post is for intel and photoshop, I normally don't use either. All I have is Gimp
EDIT: I CAN'T

Best of luck on the path!
