Make use of Ancient and Strange Dolls and reform them into lovely, decorative dolls! Small Update: Resprited DSV's sprites. They look prettier now

I really wanted a use out of the artefact dolls found in the game.  I watch a lot of Custom Doll repaints and was inspired to implement something similar, if vastly simplistic, into Stardew Valley.

Update 26 May 2022: Small, but finally got around to fixing the sprites for DSV's Dolls. Will add RSV's new marriage candidates in the next update. Outfits are based on their Spring outfits from DSV.


Tiakall hit me up with a suggestion/request to make Ridgeside Candidate dolls, as Ridgeside has its own custom forage. I jumped on it as I've been wanting to touch up the sprites of the big craftables and some of the dolls (especially the floral dolls, some of the ethnic skin tones I tried to mimic were bAD). Also, I was dissatisfied because I wanted to incorporate more masculine-appearance dolls, but only had so many forageables to work with and not enough pixel-art experience to pull it off. BUT NOT ANYMORE :D. So, without further ado, here is what's been added as a separate download for those who play with RSV:
  • 22 NEW dolls:
    -12 RSV marriage candidates-10 Floral dolls, the Prince collection! Find flowers around Ridgeside Valley and create buff dolls in dresses!
  • There's a CP folder to change Jio's appearance at random, as one does. Only will work with SDV 1.5.4+. Can be deleted and still have the Dolls on mobile, if desired :)
  • As a note, you will need to download the Ridgeside Valley in order to make the Ridgeside Dolls as their recipes required RSV exclusive forage.

As for the Main file, sprites have been updated (see above preview pics) in the vanilla version. DSV sprites will have it's own update soon.

  • Two (2) new big craftables:
- Doll Crafting Station: A crafting menu-style station to make it easier to pick and choose which dolls you want to create
- Colour-Stripper Jar: Normal machine functions, requires one (1) artefact doll and two (2) bottles of vinegar to produce either a Base Doll (Ancient Doll) and an Unpainted Doll (Strange Dolls)
  • 24 New Objects: 12 Ancient Doll retextures to look like the 12 marriageable candidates, 10 Strange Doll restyles using flowers (forage flowers included), and the naked doll versions of Ancient Doll and Strange Doll as mentioned previously
- All dolls except the Base and Unpainted Dolls, are giftable
  • Content Patcher Reskins for the marriageable candidate dolls to match Diverse Stardew Valley :D Options are configurable.
  • EDIT: Forgot to add where recipes can be found/purchased. You can purchase both big-craftable recipes from Robin, but if you want to just purchase the big-craftables themselves, Clint sells the Doll Crafting Station and Dwarf sells the Colour-Stripper Jar for relatively cheaper than the recipe.

  • Json Assets, as per usual with adding new objects
  • Custom Crafting Stations, to use the Doll Crafting station. This will bring up a menu to craft the dolls. You CANNOT make the dolls without this mod! I did this purposely because these are mostly for decorative purposes, so no long waits! =7=
  • Producer Framework Mod. This allows the Colour-Stripper Jar to function
  • Content Patcher if you want to use the Diverse Reskins. You do NOT need Diverse Stardew Valley, but it does add to the immersion.

- - - Install/Unistall: - - -

Extract zipped files and place content in your Mods folder. Can either keep all files together in my [Hippo] Doll Maker folder or take out the [CSS], [PFM], and [JA] folders and place them in your Mods folder. DO NOT take any files out of those folders! If anything warns you of "overwriting", you're extracting it wrong!

To uninstall, simply make sure any objects and craftables are deleted from inventory, chests, and removed from farm. Then delete my mod.

Antique Dolls by BeeBabey. Highkey, this mod really inspired me to consider a doll mod. Not only are they beautiful retextures, but it makes it feel more like you're repainting an old doll! :D
Doll Totem also by BeeBabey. One can never have too many dolls
Yellog's Pink Colored Furniture by yewon11. All of their furniture mods are excellent choices, but this one adds a lot of craftsy looking furniture, which just fits the overall theme :D
