Hi there! Thanks for your comment. The resolution and size are the same for all, however is lost when transposed to the game, unfortunately. To keep with the style, the lower pixel density is needed, but I plan to create another one that is of a slightly higher resolution.
Definitely loving these, and this might be *the one* for Shane! Just a quick question... Are there the white bits in game the same way there are you inyour screenshots? That's the only thing holding me back from mixing some of these into my current pile.
Seriously can't wait to see the rest of the villagers!
Yes, they are. I added them in there as a sort of "glowy effect". I thought they'd be nicer to give the character more definition due to the low resolution needed for the style.
I'm sorry that they're not your speed!
I won't be changing them for now, but I may change them when I release an HD version of the mod. However that won't happen until I finish the first set.
I think these are great interpretations of the characters and the style is consistent, very nice. I'm working on a portrait mod as well, do you have any tips for scaling down images to fit the 64x64 bricks?
First of all: I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. Thank you!
And although I'm still feeling it out, my suggest is the best way to go about it is to draw it at a bigger size, say 128x128 first, and then once in awhile check to see how it's looking smaller.
I did Sebastian at 300x300, and although I do think he turned out the best, the scaling was a huge shock for me afterwards. It's a balance between letting yourself have the larger image for details, and then fixing what you really want to shine through when you make the image smaller.
I find starting bigger helps you map out the details clearly.
helps me realize how screwed I am haha I just started with the base portrait and added on to it, guess I'll have to resize, crop and fix the blur to the best of my abilities. When I work on the other portraits I'll do it your way though, thanks!
I love Abigail's faaaaace!! *__* I use the diverse stardew valley portrait mod and am too attached to some characters' depictions in it to want to part with it fully, but it looks like I'm going to have to deal with a mix of art styles just for this Abby and Maru and Shane and perhaps even Sebastian :O Thank you for these portraits!
Thank you so much! I'm glad to even have converted you a little bit. The diverse Stardew Valley mod is a great mod, so I'm honoured to be atleast somewhat in its ranks.
Thank you so much! I am currently working on Harvey (my first iteration did not leave me very satisfied) and then I will be moving on to Shane and Emily.
Your support and continued feedback is greatly appreciated!
I love these! They're so detailed yet they're still pixel art :O I haven't been able to use a portrait replacer I wanted because I felt like no one really got Sebby right, but he looks lovely like this! (Might I also be cheeky and ask which program you use for your pixel art? )
Thank you for your feedback! I'm so happy that you like them. I was pretty proud of my Sebastian, so I'm glad to hear that someone else likes his aesthetic like this too.

I do think something is lost between the originals shown in the description and the pixelated versions in the distribution.
I will look forward to a version, perhaps using Portraiture, that can be used in game with the level of quality at which these were drawn.
You generosity in creating and sharing these is appreciated.

Thank you always for your support!

I hope this helps, even remotely!

I'm excited to see it put all together as well.

I used Photoshop CS6 for the pixel art.
