As a local Harvey expert, I will say he would love Pasta Primavera, he even has 1.6 dialogue about treating himself to some! But this mod is awesome, I love seeing vanilla crops get more utilities!!! :D thank you for your hard work <3
Instead of having the recipes be sold at the saloon like you originally intended, maybe they can instead be learned through the queen of sauce? Don't know if that'd be easier or harder to achieve though.
Ahh, yeah, I'll admit that is not something I quite know how to do just yet! As well, to my knowledge the queen of sauce is pretty booked up for recipes for the first 2 years, so even if I could figure it out, it might not be able to air until year 3...!
I did consider having them unlock at skill levels (namely farming and foraging levels) or maybe be sent in the mail from friendship, but I was worried that would just make it more of a hassle for people to add to existing saves if they missed out on recipes... I might look in to making it configurable sometime in the future though just for fun, not sure yet though. :)
Hi! I'm happy to hear that you like the mod enough to be interested in translating it. As for adding i18n support, I will keep that in mind to look into when I can, though I must admit it might take a while yet as I've gotten busy with a new job and haven't had a lot of time for modding recently.
When I have time again, I have a couple of other projects I want to polish up and post before revisiting Hidden Crop Recipes. I DO have some tweaks and small improvements I'd like to add to this mod eventually, though, so I can definitely take a look at how to set up i18n while I'm at it if possible, it just might take some time. :)
I don’t know if you aim to add more recipes over time, but summer squash soup would be a great one! I was surprised it wasn’t included, but maybe you thought it was too similar to pumpkin soup? A recipe with squash and pumpkin would be worth adding as well.
I don’t understand why milk is not an ingredient for Pasta Primavera, though, and wanted to ask. It is pasta with cream sauce and vegetables, so I would expect it to need milk. (I’ve also never heard of summer squash being added to it, but I’m not a person that cooks, so who knows!)
Ahh, summer squash soup is not something I had thought of actually! My family does not eat a lot of squash so when I wanted to make this mod, I had to look up some recipes online to see how it is usually prepared, so that is probably why I hadn't thought of it. Though, I did have the thought as I was making this, that I already had two soups so I'd better try to branch out a little lol! :)
As far as the pasta primavera goes, sometimes it can be made with different sauces. When I make it at home I usually just toss it with a bit of olive oil, but if I make it with sauce, I usually make a lighter sauce with a bit of lemon juice, a bit of chicken stock and a bit of the water from the pasta (to add starch, which helps improve the thickness). None of these really translate well into Stardew ingredients, so I reckoned it may as well simply be considered a sort of "hidden ingredient" like how a number of vanilla dishes if you think of it really ought to have more ingredients than they do, but it can be assumed that the dish somehow works out anyway.
As for adding squash to the pasta, it is something a friend exclaimed to me when I was first lamenting how the new crops aren't used for anything... "well, you could just add all three to a pasta and bam, you're done!" sure enough, when I looked it up I found there are indeed pasta primavera recipes out there that call for squash.
At any rate, thanks for the polite suggestion. I actually have another idea for a completely separate recipe mod in the works right now, but I might still revisit this one afterwards to add some more features if I can, so I will keep a mental note of that. :)
Whether it’s this mod or a separate mod, I would love to see some recipes that make use of Truffles and Truffle Oil! Maybe a few more that use Maple Syrup? Honestly the possibilities are endless. Just remember to take care of yourself first and foremost, you are more important than your mods! But thank you for this lovely mod~
Haha, maple syrup is actually something at the top of my list as it happens-- my next idea that I've been writing down ideas for is a pack of 'common sense' recipes, things that just seem to logically follow with the existence of the ingredients and make you wonder... "why isn't that a thing anyway?" and as it happens, 'maple syrup pancakes' is one of the first ideas I jotted down, lol :)
As for truffles/truffle oil, that is a good idea. They're supposed to be a gourmet delicacy but who is really cooking with them when there aren't any recipes? I'll add that one to my list of ideas as well. :)
You could make a recipe for blueberry pancakes! I like to eat blueberry pancakes with maple syrup. I have also heard of some really delicious-sounding cookie recipes that call for it, like maple ginger cookies. Also, absolutely gobsmacked that there isn’t a single recipe that calls for strawberries in the base game. There’s even a Fruit Salad recipe, and it doesn’t include strawberries! (You can stop responding to these if you’re busy, I just keep thinking of more things lol)
As per your page on bug reports, you say "the items' buffs work fine but..." if the item you are having difficulties with has associated buffs, then it is not one of mine.
Additionally in your bug report page, you say "it all has norm gift dialogue", there is no custom dialogue associated with this mod, only custom likes and dislikes, so if the issue you are having is that you're getting the default dialogue associated for the level of gift taste (ex. "thanks, I like this" for a liked item) then that is working as intended.
sorry, Now I carefully check again, some recipe said in des that it is love gift but when I hand them in game, it only work as like gift like I hand summer squash cheese goat tart and Leah said Thank this is nice instead Oh this exactly want I want! Jas and Vincent also like them instead dislike/hate them. I check all recipe with look up everything and it is all like gift except some npc that dislike most cooking in general
Hmm. That is strange. When you load up the game does smapi give you any errors or warnings (such as saying that content patcher couldn't apply a patch to an npc's gift taste)? Or, after trying to gift an item do you get any error messages in smapi? Are you running the latest version of smapi and content patcher? Does the issue persist if you load up the game with other mods disabled (you can do this by creating a sub folder in your mod folder, naming it '.disabled' or anything that starts with a period, and moving other mods except for content patcher into that folder)?
ํNo error or warning show up at all. Yes I redownload to make sure all in latest version Now I remove all mod and it work on gift taste at it should too. Look like some mods is cause of it. I found it and delete them now
Happy to hear the squash recipes look okay, squash is actually not something that is eaten a lot in my family, so when looking for inspiration for this mod I looked up some recipes on line to see how people normally like to cook with it! Some of them looked pretty good, I might have to try it sometime lol ^^! Hope you are enjoying the mod!
LOVE this!! Plus every time people make new objects like this, I end up wanting to give them to my custom NPCs with no programmed response to them to see how they feel.
Hello, glad you're enjoying the mod. I might be a little confused, but just wanted to mention that, if you have any custom, modded NPCs in your game, they will use their innate preferences for the cooking category to decide if they like it or not (ex. in vanilla, Krobus has a preference against cooked items, so unless otherwise specified, he will generally dislike cooked dishes; if your modded NPC has a similar preference set, they will go with that), as I have only set individual gift preferences for vanilla NPCs.
If they do not have a category preference set, then Cooked Items will default to being a Liked gift by most NPCs, this is because they are considered a universal like. That is to say, if there is not a 'programmed response' in this mod for a given NPC, they will appreciate the item as a liked gift, unless they categorically dislike cooked dishes.
Sorry if this is overexplaining!!! I saw "I want to give them to my custom NPCs with no programmed response to see how they feel" and went, 'custom NPCS? hmm....', and just wanted to clarify how that would work. :)

Would you consider updating it to integrate i18n support ? That way it would be translatable - I would do it for
Thanks and have a good day !
