I started replaying Stardew Valley recently and ended up going down the rabbit hole that is SDVMM. I haven't really touched SDVMR, which is newer, but I did go through the code for SDVMM. I did fix a handful of the errors, but I don't know much at all of visual basic and can't be bothered atm to learn. Instead, I'm remaking it from scratch in C++, which will hopefully mean whatever I leave behind will be more accessible for hobby coders to update than a vb.net program.
If ken28/yuukiw comes back and updates this, great, but if not, I'll have a working equivalent (but no multi-platform support) posted in the next week or so probably. I'll update here when that happens.
EDIT: Stardew Valley Mod Manager 2 is up on the Nexus.
Mod currently is broken and will not work with the current version of the game until it's updated, which judging by the time since it's last update may not happen RIP SDVMM you were much loved
I just installed this and when I try to launch it, it always says there's an update available (even if I've tried to update it before) and, after trying to update it, a window with "Cancel" and "Launch" buttons pops up. When I click "Launch", a popup that says "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. The system cannot find the file specified." pops up. Nothing happens if I click "Continue."
This is late but you'll definitely need SMAPI, that's the program that allows mods to run properly. SDVMM (which hasn't been updated for the most recent version of the game) just makes it easier for you to organize your mods
Are there any plans to update sdvmm to work more smoothly with the newest versions of smapi? I'm drowning in unhandled exceptions haha. I love having such a nice, easy to use manager to help me keep my mods in order but it seems like with every smapi update this loses even more fuctionality... If there aren't plans to update it (which is fine, there's nothing wrong with being unwilling or unable to continue a project especially if it's a free labor of love like sdvmm is) are there any alternatives out there that work similarly?

I mostly lost interest in SDV by now thats why sdvmm is mostly dead.
