I'll make a chest somewhere, probably in riverwood, and It will have a separate reskin of Steel Plate with the mail so it won't alter the vanilla version. i'll try to have it out tomorrow.
I don't understand why people would complain about two sets. It would just be an alternative style like with a couple of the other armors. If you make an esp where this is added to the leveled list, I would love that.
The texture is really nice, thanks for taking the time to share it with us. Unfortunately it kept causing CTDs for me. It was happening exactly by the entrance of Whiterun, due to me using Cutting Room Floor which enables Uthgerd for a scripted dialogue in front of the city.
Tried it without CRF, the crash didn't happen. It's an incompability.
CRF must be incompatible with another mod that you have, this mod only retextures Steel Plate it does not alter anything else. Try turning off my mod and doing the same thing.
I also got the CTD, also in front of Whiterun using the cutting room floor mod. However, when I turned cutting room floor off and tried to go into the Bannered Mare where Uthgerd usually is, I CTDed again. The CTDs go away only if your mod is off.
