I looked forward to trying this, sadly this isn't a proper port, MO2 just notified me its still in its LE format and I avoid LE mods where I can.

      Maybe try this third-party patch:
      https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16886

The transformed the plugin to form44 (SE use this instead of 43 or lower).

Don't know if it will works, just installed both myself.

Use the black soul gems found on the bookshelf near the enchanting table. Pick them up, then go to the enchanting table, sneak, and activate the prompt that appears. It should allow you to rig the black soul gems to explode.

EDIT:  WARNING!!!  I'm not sure if it's doing this for everyone, but at least some of us are experiencing it.  This mod creates saves under a completely different profile.  When you finish the quest line and go back to Skyrim, you won't be able to access any of your old saves.  It's just like changing anything about your appearance using the ShowRaceMenu mod; the game thinks you've just made a new character and saves it separately.  idn't affect me too much but I can see this being a serious issue for some...

I added this mod to a new playthrough; however, I got to level 20 before realizing that I was never approached by a courier for this mod. I read the FAQ, went to Dawnstar and waited for 5 hours but nothing happened. I read through some posts and decided to reinstall the mod; waited in Dawnstar again for 5 hours and still no courier. I read through MORE posts and found out the invitation's name so I consoled it in hoping that reading it would start the quest. BINGO. Now I can see what all the hubbub is about.

I'll edit this post with how much I love it once I finish.

EDIT:  Alrighty, here's the bad news...
    1. Spoiler:
      Show
So, When I opened the pit trap for Ronaldo, his body was too low to be accessed without dropping in and killing myself...
    2. Spoiler:
      Show
When I was looking for Vee-Zaih, I was insta-gibbed by the butler for "violence."  You might want to more clearly point out that for some reason he knows you're trying to kill him and you'll be killed for even being seen...  I can see why there were complaints about stealthing...
    3. Spoiler:

Ok, the saving thing is an issue.  Whenever I try to save inside the building, it creates a save (or doesn't I suppose) under a different area than my original saves.  I can only access my last save if I click "OK" to the dialogue box that states that mods are active and achievements are disabled.  If I hit "cancel" and try to load my last save, it only shows my last save that was made outside of the building...
    4. Spoiler:
      Show
Oimlod's part was super annoying...  I waited for freakin' ever because every time I kept trying to move toward the quest marker I kept getting killed...  The "false wall" did look super obvious but there was absolutely no reason for anyone to think you could knock it over by walking into it...  I've died so many times that this is starting to feel like Dark Souls...
    5. Spoiler:
      Show
As another post mentioned, there was no clue what was supposed to happen in the darkness...  After the speaking was done, there was nothing...  Ok, I get the "detect undead" spell now.  Easy to miss if you're not playing a caster and decided to skip it however...
    6. Spoiler:
      Show
Boss was kinda hard to see due to the fire...  Almost missed him
    7. Spoiler:
      Show
Definitely did not have any of my gear in the area "to the left of the fire."  I had to go all the way back to the entrance for it.
EDIT:  Ok, now on to the good stuff.
    1. The premise was really fun.  Classic Clue-type s***.  Good job.
    2. I lol'd when I met Henrietta.
    3. Spoiler:
      Show
GOPHER NARRATING?!  You guys couldn't have nabbed a better voice actor.
    4. Spoiler:
      Show
I lol'd so f***ing hard after Oimlod's comments ("fun guy") and then heading back into the garden after killing him...  Too funny.
    5. Spoiler:
      Show
As a bit of RP, I had a blast donning everyone's outfit that I killed (or found dead) and "posing" as them for my next target.
    6. Spoiler:
      Show
LOVED the boss fight.  I'll say nothing more.

Thanks for confirming. I thought I'd be cheeky and do some looting, got back to Skyrim and the problems you wrote about appeared. Went back to main menu and reloaded from their although found about 5 save files had disappeared. Most of my gear had disappeared and going through the building revealed nothing, also I'm using Kagnerrac player home and the ring for that disappeared. Luckily a save before I approached the butler bot was still available and reloaded..

Well, I got the message and went to the boat but after the short conversation with the dwarven ball I get an infinite load screen. What could cause this?

I wouldn't call it Christmas mod actually, but the mod is awesome, such an amazing use of the "house with guests" trope...and all the restrictions for battles, just great, thank you, had so much fun playing it!

For anybody having issues with the mod try using this fix: INSANITY CLAUSE - A CHRISTMAS QUEST Bug Fix and Immersion Patch
Hopefully the mod author updates it soon.
