Some lighting mods need these lights, like Window Shadows. ENB Light provides these in their alpha file, however, that file has many broken paths for anyone who isn't using the Medieval mods (lots of purple objects for vanilla/SMIM users). ENB Light is locked down in terms of permissions and possibly may never see development again. So with the help of Rudy's mods, which have open asset use, I created these from scratch.
I hope they are useful.
NOTE The images are just examples. They are pre-release shots using an old color that is not actually in use. However, the effect is the same for all options. I will have some shots showing the color matching soon.
Also, if I have missed a candle asset somewhere, please report it. Do note that some candles are part of construction sets or larger objects. Those may or may not get incorporated.
Second, good news! Rudy has kindly shared an asset that shows how to add a simple flicker effect for the candles. I will be working on this over the next week or two...month?...who knows, but the effect will be coming in the near future!
i know this is off topic, but i have lights that give off a natural andpurposefull flicker and was wondering if you knew which popular lighting mods did that, i just want them to be static
I don't. There are "bounce" timings that authors can set in the meshes to achieve this effect. I've actually wanted to add them to this mod, as well, but I haven't had much time for modding the past year.
Damn shame to hear about the issue with Mathy. His mods are infamous for being "all or nothing" in BSA's, and he states so in his mod descriptions that he usually doesn't do patches, so if there's anything people don't like, they can just unpack and take it out themselves.
People have created patches for his content in the past, such as a Grass-Only and Tree-Only versions of his 3D Trees and Plants mod so they can mix and match what they want (such as the various Cathedral plant mods). However, he does request that you contact him first for stuff like that. It's unfortunate he never replied back.
This mod, as subtle as it is, really does make a difference, so thanks a bunch for making it! It just sucks that there really isn't many mods out there that touch all the different candle/sconces and such like his does. I guess this next playthrough, I'll sacrifice the nice lights for nice textures and see if I survive, lol.
Here's to hoping he'll get back to ya eventually! Nice work!
wishing so bad that rudy's candles were compatible :( Rudy does the enb particle effect, but I don't think they have the effect or whatever you created for brighter areas from more candles (AFAIK anyways)
I don't know the range that Rudy set their candle for. The main difference would be the color options. I do have permissions from Rudy to include their candles, but I haven't had time for any modding. RL has been busy, busy, busy.
