Was looking for something close to bleak on SE. And this is it! Love how very atmospheric and dark it is.

    Hi Mr kaleidocat,

Your latest effort corrects the snow blindness thing in the morning and is a great improvement! I suspect that this is pretty much as far as you can get until Boris comes up with something better. I really like how my game looks now. Nights are fairly dark, interiors kinda dim (same for dungeons). Some people write dungeon mods to be pitch black, I avoid those. I want to play the game, not struggle with a blank screen. Congratulations.

I have terrible problems with reshade that i can't really be bothered to fix before SSE-SKSE comes out but I still love the subtle improvement of this enb! (i do miss tetrachromatic enb tho)

    Hi Mr kaleidocat,

This is just a heads-up for you and everyone else. There's a glitch in screen synchronization if you aren't using some method of vsynch that WILL drive you around the bend. It may have to do with the fact that I'm using Beth's latest update (1.3.?). If you see that the textures at the bottom of the screen are blurring and perhaps a funny line moving on the screen, you can easily correct it by making sure that you either turn on vsynch in the enblocal.ini or make sure that your skyrimprefs.ini has iVSyncPresentInterval=1. Either will do, you just have to make sure that vsynch is ON one way or another. It's as simple as setting the vsynch line in the enblocal.ini (first line) is set to TRUE. For those of you that have been scratching your heads on this one, the fix is trivial. Kaleidocat, you might consider making this small change in the ini file on your next update. Trivial but might not be obvious to many.

Very pleased with this preset. Very clean and subtle, yet improves the game significantly. I've tried the other ENB's for SSE, but they give the game a sci-fi feel. This enhances the lighting without adding a bunch of effects. My favourite preset so far!

    Hello Kaleidocat,

I think you're selling yourself short in the description. This is the only preset I'll use for the meantime. I falsed out that DOF and the lighting levels are just about right, not totally black interiors the way some seem to like (I always check the pics for night and interior scenes...if the author is too embarrassed to post an interior or night scene, ie, just a black screen, I move on right away!!) I'm getting a pretty constant 60 fps (capped) but have to admit that my rig is fairly beastly with crossfire on 2 r9 290's and a 4790K cpu 4 core at 4 (or 4.4) ghz. I've gotten rid of those stupid damn godrays to get rid of the constant fog everywhere. Get rid of the radial blur, DOF and Beth's 30 fps cap and I can mod the heck out of this thing and it works great! For those of us that don't want to play with the monitor off, please keep this mod alive and update it as Boris gets it together for SSE.

I really appreciate that my man. I will be sure to keep the updates going, im actually working on a new version right now, but it's taking a while because dawn and dusk parameters can be really tedious to perfect. I'll go disable the godrays and radial blur and see how it looks (thanks for the tip.) cheers and enjoy!

You're most welcome. And thanks for the great work so far!

Just remember ONE simple maxim...our eyes are NOT cameras! Just because we CAN add a camera effect doesn't mean we SHOULD add it. The more camera effects we disable, the better the game looks and it even takes less processing as a bonus.

What Skyrim needs is mainly to get rid of the stupid camera effects (bloom is another, an artifact of old CRT monitors...our current ones are BETTER) and adjust the lighting for interior cells like buildings and caves. I don't like to play in the dark and really don't get why others think it's fashionable. (?) We still get the godrays on legitimate fog instead of all the time. Game studios like Beth have gone crazy with the special effects that they are ABLE to do but really just ph**k up the game for those of us that want to simply play the game.

Special effects are like womens' make-up...less is more.
