Loving the mod so far, though suddenly the fire enchantments are "placed" wrong. For example on my dagger and crossbow, there are flames as if I was carrying a sword, and for the crossbow it looks like theres a constant flame shooting from the end. Was fine a couple days ago when I installed it.
Other than that it's an awesome mod and one I never knew I needed. Thanks for it! :)
This is a limitation of my modding. I cannot get the effect mesh to dynamically bind to all weapon models without using scripts which I want to avoid. This is a problem with other similar mods. I just went with a general sword length for the effects.
If you wish to tweak the effects to be shorter or longer length you can open them in nifskope and adjust the "Box Emitter" length, IIRC the value is 37.xx something like that. You can do this for individual effects. Simply save over the original and test in game.
Edit: There already is an example mesh in the files, "sefirefxdagger.nif" and "sefrostfxdagger.nif" for a general dagger length effect.
Been using this mod for years and can't live in without it. I did notice something today, though, the effects seems to only work on players? When I hold the weapon, the particles appear on my weapon, but when I give my weapon to an NPC, the effects (extra particles and light) don't show up when they hold it. Not sure if this is intentional or not.
Is there any way to make this mod modular on my own? I really like the frost and fire effects, but I prefer the lightning visual effect of another mod, which in turn has much weaker frost and fire effects than this one.
Yeah you can remove the meshes from this mod you don't want from the mod folders. Then go into SSEEdit and remove the edits to those effects. It will be under the Magic Effects and probably Enchantment tabs.
remember this mod since i first downloaded it ages ago, then last time i played skyrim couple of years ago, couldnt find it at all. Today google algorith blessed me and found it again.
Criminaly under-rated mod and cant find it faster (althought it got the dls and endorsments) in a mod site with all the $hit mods taking space. Thank you very much Sir for your contribution on making my game look awesome.
PS. Works with LeanWolf's mod. (at least the Chilled steel sword im equipped with look awesome_)
Thanks for stopping by, glad you enjoyed it and remembering these specific effects! At first it was gimmicky but eventually it turned into what it is now. It won best effect mod of 2014 by gamespot and was also the most improved mod.
IMO I also prefer the visual effects in this mod over the others. Would you know if this mod applies to custom weapon mods like Immersive Weapons, etc.? Thinking about downloading this mod.
EDIT: Nvm saw the bugs list, looks like I have to settle for another mod
This is a dated mod from my oldrim days. It has it's limitations from then. It will work on other weapons but this is a replacer to the enchantments so it's got compatability problems with those enchantments. You can try out this mod: Vibrant weapons - Fire Frost Shock
