    **Please read this before posting**

Some users report this being buggy. Use at your own risk.

Over the last nearly 2 years I have seen a lot of posts that say this mod does not work. I would like to first say I am not an advanced modder nor is this an advanced mod - this was literally changing some numbers in a script. I made this for myself and only shared because there was no version of this for the Special Edition on the Nexus yet.

That being said, I have tried many scenarios and different orders of doing the quests and it has always worked on my game. The only bug I have encountered in my tests has been the main character being able to tell Devlin they finished special jobs that they already told him they finished. I have tried it with only this mod, and I have tried it with all the dozens of mods I use. As of today, I quickly did a speed run of all of the quests and it still worked as planned.

I am not sure how to troubleshoot the problems that the below users have reported as I have not encountered them at all and have no idea if possibly a different mod they have is causing the error or if my computer just seems to work it out and I am the anomaly.

If anyone else wants to take a stab at it, you are welcome to. I apologize if it doesn't work on your specific build, but I do not know what else to do.

Amber1019 offered a workaround on the 29th of Aug 2017 and that looked like it worked for some people.

So, after I completed Summerset Shadows (Windhelm) and The Dainty Sload (Solitude), neither Delvin nor Vex will give me anymore quests whatsoever.
BUT, I don't think it's due to this mod. I did some googling and it sounds like people even on consoles have this issue with them suddenly not wanting to give you anymore quests. So, if you encounter this, your best bet is just to use console codes to start all of the special jobs. Below are the console codes for each quest. My recommendation would be to only trigger one at a time, complete it, then do the next.

    Markarth - Silver Lining: setstage TGTQ01 0
Solitude - The Dainty Sload: setstage TGTQ02 0
    Whiterun - Imitation Amnesty: setstage TGTQ03 0
    Windhelm - Summerset Shadows: setstage TGTQ04 0

I also read you may be able to go straight to the Under New Management quest, but I have not tested this and therefore do not recommend it. But if you want to try it out, the following command should work; you can use the console: setstage TGLeadership 0

Congrats on your new One with the Shadows achievement.

The mod is ok, but can loop jobs no longer needed to do to control the city. Now THIS list of console commands should be a sticky. It allows you to pick a city for the thieves guild to control. Nice and simple. Would have been nice if the mod did those specifically.

Thios was perfect. I got stuck too. Devon got looped and kept giving me money for Windhelm, so I started Markath manually in the end and it solved it for me.TG is now completed.

      By golly - thanks!

It's been a long run folks. I can't believe one of my mods (as simple as it was) has, at the time off this writing, been downloaded over 800,000 times!

As I say in all of my mods, I am not that advanced of a modder, and rarely share what I make. I would have never caught that this script tweak from all those years ago would have conflicted where it did to cause that weird glitch of turning in the special jobs again. Kudos to GreatDevourer for figuring that out.

That being said, to be perfectly honest, I don't even use my own mod anymore. I use Thieves Guild Requirements SE https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/33256 which I highly recommend as it contains the ability to manually set these requirements as you want on top of additional features.

I'm not going to make this file hidden for those that just want the simple fix w/o bells or whistles, but agree it's had its run and that other mods do this better.

Thanks for all the DL's everyone!

I was stuck with just the Markarth special quest left, and completely over doing take/quit/take/quit over and over trying to get jobs there. I installed this, and Delvin repeated the dialogue for completing the other three, but then gave me the Markarth one. Thanks!

    I'm running 1.6.659 (GOG) btw.

i like the idea of this mod.

but on the other hand i do wish bethesda actually gave the player the ability to manage the guilds NPC's, and what i mean is sending other NPC's on missions for the guild, as a sort of mini game of sending them on these missions, the NPC's don't have to actually do the missions, they only need to appear to be doing them for the players sake and they leave the presence of the guild for a few days, but doing a management system like this is based on a chance gap and the skill requirement of the mission and the skill of the NPC with their strengths weaknesses to take into consideration for the player to put them on their mission, which can also upgrade the NPC's ability to handle missions into the future the more they do these jobs.

this system i'm talking about is a mini game that i enjoyed very much back in the day of playing assassins creed brotherhood and revelations, as it was a very balanced system that taught the player good leadership and management skills of the creed or guild in this case, but it would have been nice if Bethesda did a system like this when they decided to make you the arch mage or the guild master or the dark brotherhood leader.

the point is, all guilds could have the potential to use this system and the way it's handled through this system, each NPC is given a task by the player to complete based on their skills and the chance gap requirement of the location of the job and the skills needed for the job, each NPC is rewarded a sum of the profit earned after each mission completed, but because this is based off of the NPC's skill and the skill requirement of the mission, if the NPC fails the mission it could cost the guild money to bail them out of jail or in the brotherhoods sake, it could cost them an assassin to replace, because the NPC was either caught or died on their mission, this would negatively effect the guild, but it would also require the player to learn from their actions and do better next time.

maybe this system could exist from the beginning of the guild, i mean the player can still do some of these missions themselves while the other guild members are out and about on their missions, so when the player comes back from their mission, so are the NPC's needed to send on their next set of missions. this would be a faster and more immersive way of getting the guild back on top of running guild operations like a well oiled machine instead of getting the player to handle everything by themselves, sure the player would still need to play this management mini game from time to time, but it would provide the guild more ways than one to get these missions done in a shorter period of time and break down the grind in a realistic way so that the special missions that the guild are sent on are only for the player to handle into the next progression of the quests in these other cities that it will unlock.

i don't know if this kind of system would help your mod work better or not as i read your post at the top here, but it kind of uses the same basic idea, but allows the player to keep their hands a little cleaner and it might also be a better system for the player to take part in and maybe prevent issues of Quests not working properly.

Yeah, cubbyman1, we're gonna need you to learn how to make mods so you can make that one for us.  Let me know when you get on that, I'll be the first to download it!  lol

I've thought about that, unfortunately I don't have my PC with me at the moment, I have my cell phone and that's about it.

But I do Wonder the possibility of using the creation kit while using the steam deck, if I could learn modding while using the steam deck and problem shooting my mod using the steam deck, that actually might be very useful.

But I'm unaware if this option could exist because bethesda.net is where I would likely need to go in order to get the creation kit and I'm not exactly sure how that system runs, I've never used bethesda.net I'm used to using the Nexus and downloading creation kit off of steam.

But I'm flattered you were into my idea, it would be a cool system to have.

Thank you sera. I generally do zero or minimal (only when AI needs me) fast travel runs, so truly completing the Thieves Guild has kinda been locked out for me. Until now.

Sorry to ask, I never played for the thievs before (in 10 years of skyrim lol), this mods worked perfectly for me when I did the missions for whiterun, solitude (and maybe an other city I dont know anymore)! After 2 missions I got the special mission.
but when I started getting missions in riften they just kept comming with no special mission. Because I never played for this guild I dont even know if this mods stopped working or its inteded. can someone please explain if there are special missions in riften or markath, dawnstar, morthal, etc.
And if its bugged what are my options? I mean I dont want to do 100+ missions for the thievs.

For anyone trying to use the command "setstage TGLeadership 10" and receiving the phrase "GetStage >> 10.00" without the quest Under New Management

A fix that worked for me was talking to Sapphire and Shadr in Riften.
after talking to them I used "GetStage TGLeadership" and it showed "GetStage >> 0.00"
from that point I used "setstage TGLeadership 10" and it started the quest Under New Management

Not sure what the cause was for the quest to glitch or why talking to them fixed it.
