Have you any other horse mod installed? As long as everything is installed properly and the esp activated it will be fine unless another esp is overiding this one, could try moving the esp down to the bottom of the load order.
I do have Better Shadowmere installed and I've checked in xEdit that there are no conflicts. Even when disabling Better Shadowmere and starting a fresh new game the saddle just won't show up
Any chance this will be added by default with your "Yee Haaaa Horse Saddle Retexture" mod? I love em both, but don't really see a need for them to be seperate.
Does the texture/effects/DirtOverlay.dds unintentionally affect anything other than horse saddles and horse hides? Because that would mean it's not just Shadowmere's saddle that is getting retextured by using this file.
No, it's a unique texture which will only be seen on the items you chose an overlay for, won't be used by anything else unintentionally. The overlay options i've done for all the horse related stuff contain a specific mesh which allows the overlay for that item.
hear me out, alongside the just-diffuse option you could have an option to replace the imperial saddle normal map with one that just doesn't have the imperial logo on it.
The main file has correct mask and normal map for the diffuse if you want that, i can't offer a replacement for the imperial saddle normal map because then it would mess up the imperial saddle, nice username by the way, i used to eat loads of that years ago was ridiculous, not as much these days
Isnt it possible to change just the texture path for the saddles ? I mean it uses his own mesh and it is included in the mod anyway. All three come with their own mesh. So no more overlaps with other meshes using the same texture
