That shield looks beautiful, but its meshes look like this: https://i.postimg.cc/MpywLQCs/horseshieldmesh.jpg You can actually delete that extra part in NifScope withous visible problems, but still, perhaps something you would want to look at.
Thank you for your feedback. I haven't touched the sounds, they are as set up by Autan in his original mod. I also haven't paid particular attention to what it sounds like, I will do so when I get home from work and see if I think a change is in order.
(Update) The shields use the default Skyrim heavy/light shield sounds and are fine on my game both with vanilla audio and with the immersive sounds compendium I normally play with.
Which shield are you using?
Do you have any audio mods, or other mods which change combat sounds that could be responsible?
OK, is that the iron or Corundum light shield? I won't be able to have another look till Sunday evening (parental responsibility), is it possible that you have the more realistic combat sounds options for immersive sounds active? These settings would result in more of a dull thud than a sharp clang.
Something you could try is opening the mod in creation kit go to armor/pagan which should take you to the shield, double click it to open up the details page and then change the bash/block set (or whatever it's called) halfway down the left hand side from light shield to heavy, then save it. Then test it in game and see if it sounds better.
