Please note: I (InsaneGizzardSauce) have moved on from Skyrim for a while now. I've kept monitoring the discussions in case I could help out with level 1 questions, but it's time for me to move on. I've messaged Darkjesusmn, asking him (?) to remove me as a contributor. I stepped up at the time because nobody else was volunteering. All I did was streamline the documentation and make actions stated in the Description tab. If anyone else wants to pick up the baton, please ask Darkjesusmn to be a contributor, or extend this mod using this mod as a requirement. I know for a fact that there are others with interest in this mod with far greater skills than I have. As far as Skyrim is concerned. I'm going dark.

    • Please read the description page. Some of the problems you have are likely to be answered there.
    • Bug tab is disabled for public use. If you have questions or comments, please use the comments tab. I closed most of the bugs since they were either not bugs inherent to this mod or more information was needed. Please use the comments section if you experience any issues.
    • I will not offer an ESL version of this mod for the reasons stated on the description page. I point to a resource you can use to flag the the mod as ESL yourself. Please don't ask me to offer an ESL version here.
    • This updated version will not break compatibility with Legacy of the Dragonborn Official Patches. I myself use LOTD with every playthrough.
    • If you're using a Collection in which this mod is included, please go to the Collection author for support.
    • Please don't ding-dong-ditch. I usually respond to posts within a few hours, and I'm honestly trying to help you out. So after you post, please check for a response and help me to help you.

Helpful Reminders -- Please read the description page before posting any questions
Here are some frequent questions and answers.

Q: "I can't forge power armor" (or ingots, etc.)
A: It's a good idea to have all the prerequisite steps taken care of before you head to the Aetherium Forge: (1) you need the "arcane blacksmith" perk in order to forge anything at the Aetherium Forge, and (2) you need to have finished the "Unfathomable Depths" quest in order to forge power armor and rifle. These are hard prerequisites.
P.S. installing any mods mid-game will cause problems. Get your mods worked out, apply appropriate mod-conflict resolution, patches, etc. Start a new game and leave your mod list and mod order alone

Q: "Do I really need to have finished 'Unfathomable Depths'?"
A: Yes. If you want the power armor and rifle. There's no way around it.

    Q: "I can't start 'Unfathomable Depths'!"
A: Make sure you're at least level 14.

This mod is excellent, thank you very much for it.
If possible, I'd like to ask something about a bug I've come across. If I try to install both this mod and the one called "Golden Dwemer Pipeworks Redone" the Aetherial Bolt Launcher looks like this:

    https://imgur.com/a/SGHp5jG.jpg

Somehow, it remains stuck with this Dwarven Crossbow in its middle part. Has anyone ever heard of something like this? Thank you very much for your help and time.

Has anyone removed the shader effects from the enchanted version of the armor? I have a follower wearing the armor and the shader effect is annoying to look at. Or does anyone have a blank shader effect I could use as a patch? Hoping not to deconstruct the BSA if I don't have to.

You can change the shader on the magic effect in the creation kit.

So... I'm not super familiar with using Creation Kit much beyond re-saving ESPs to Form 44. I tried to figure my way around it a bit but would really need some assistance and direction. I also made a copy of the BSA and used BAE extractor on it so as to get to the loose files. After that I tried to see if I could manipulate the meshes using Nifscope to try and find a way to eliminate the effect shaders, but to no avail. If anyone is willing to either:
A - edit the loose files with NO Effect shader (as seen in pic) or
B - Give me some direction as to where to learn, or how to do this edit myself
I would be super appreciative and the happiest person on here today!!!
I have a lot of experience with Skyrim modding, but much rather prefer to play my game, instead of trying to learn how to work with meshes and textures. Thanks in advance!

The female versions of the shield are colored wrong.
    Both Power versions are gold/dwarven
Both non enchanted versions are silver

Also the LotD patch swaps the names of the shields around, so I have also reported this to them. Little patch I made is on the LotD Discord.

Any patches people make are welcome. As I've stated in the description tab, all I did were some minor tweaks, as nobody else was willing to step up at the time. But my knowledge only went so far and I've stopped playing Skyrim for a while. I've messaged Darkjesusmn that I wanted to back away from this mod but he never responded nor took away contributor rights.

Anyone who has the skills and interest is more than welcome to pick up the baton.

Why am I getting all these errors in the LotD patch? https://imgur.com/a/KYAmWH7

This patch seems to be all over this thread. I can't find any issues with load order.

I'm sorry, but I don't have an answer for you given the information provided. Let's establish a baseline of information:

      • Did you start a new (as in pressing the "new" button) after installing this mod and the LOTD patch?
      • Are you using MO2 or Vortex?
      • Did you ask the LOTD patch team about this, since it's their patch?
      • What version of Skyrim are you using? I refuse to upgrade past 1.5.97.0. I've heard that in the last few versions of Skyrim, Bethesda really screwed over the modders, but I can't say definitively whether that is a problem or not.

Fair enough; apologies for not providing that information. Not sure what a new game has to do with errors showing up in xEdit. I haven’t started any game yet. This is on xEdit. I am using MO2 and on 1.5.97.

i haven’t asked the LoTD team. Maybe I should. However the pattern I am seeing here is that the LoTD patch is broken, or at the very least cause of much confusion, if not outright headache.

My hope was any user of your excellent mod may have encountered these errors in xEdit regarding this troublesome  patch and figured out a solution.

also my load order is as follows

Tools of Kagrenac < Aetherium Sword and Armor < Aetherium sword and armor and ToK synergy patch < LoTD patch (latest version of all these mods compatible with my version I.e. Skyrim SE)

Installing mods mid-game can cause problems. That's why I asked. This page doesn't get a lot of traffic, but maybe someone who knows can answer. Again, I'd advise you ask the LOTD team because they made the patch. This mod works as intended in isolation, so any problems with a patch mod has to be taken to the people who wrote the patch.

Thank you. May I ask you for a favor? I saw that you use LoTD as well as this patch.

Do you see these errors in your patch as well? If you don’t, then can you kindly relay what version of the LotD patch hub you are using? I am using their latest one.

I will post on the LoTD forum as well.

thank you so much for such a creative mod! I love Dwemer lore.

I've been playing Starfield for the past few months, so I've been away from Skyrim. But as of the last time I played, I was using LOTD Patch 5.6.1. For the record, I wasn't looking at xEdit because I had no reason to. I certainly didn't have any xEdit errors. In all the time I've played, I never had any issues with LOTD or its patches.

I can tell you what any mod author is going to ask first: if you have only the minimal mods installed, do you see the same issue? If you already have and you still see the same problem without all your other mods installed, then go ahead and ask them for help.

A detail just jumped out at me. You mentioned Tools of Kagrenak and the synergy patch. There's another variable and possibility for investigation. I've never used TOK nor any synergy patch.

For anyone reading this, turns out it was my fault. I esl'ed the main mod and then changed formIDs reflected in the LoTD patch. I then reinstalled the LOTD patch collection at a later date and forgot to NOT re-install the LOTD patch.

MORAL of the story: if you esl something with patches, keep track so that if you ever re-install the patch collection you don't overwrite your esl-compatible patch.

I just tested this mod with Adamant, and I can confirm that there is no incompatibility. With the Ancient Knowledge passive, I'm able to craft all the enchanted variants, as well as the bolt launcher.

A lot of less experienced users are confused by Adamant's perk tree, but it does in fact distribute every Vanilla perk to the player and there are no incompatibilities between this mod and Adamant. Whatever issues people reported that led to the warning being added must have been caused by something else.

I'm having an odd issue. I have the latest version of the mod, v1.1.1 (I checked), but the enchantable Aetherium weapons still have "especially effective against Daedra and spectral beings" obscuring the enchantment description. Just the regular Aetherium weapons, their silver-colored counterparts have clear description boxes.

I'd be far from surprised if I goofed and screwed something up on my end, but I figured I'd at least ask. Idk, I apologize if this ends up being the case, I don't want to waste your time

When I tested it out, all weapons but one had the description cleared. That's because the LOTD patch overwrote my latest tweak. I'm back in Skyrim from a few months in Starfield, so I'll test it again on a new game and make sure the latest patch has the description changes.

Now that I've refreshed my memory, the "power" weapons are not enchantable. It's the enchantable weapons without "power" in the name that have the description stripped.

So i downloaded the mod and started a new game. and just to be sure item mods like this work i always search in console commands to be sure the items were added. they are not. none of it exists within the game? anyone got a fix?

edit: im suspecting a mod conflict. but i honestly have a LOT of mods installed. can anyone give me an idea on what to look for? also apparently the plugin isnt in my load order at all?

I refuse to update my Skyrim past version 1.5.97.0. From what I've heard, Bethesda just destroyed the Skyrim ecosystem with its new "Creations". I don't know if that impacted this mod or not. You could try using AddItemMenu if you really want to see whether this mod is impacted, but again, if you're using anything past 1.5.97.0, I really can't help you. And if you have a LOT of mods installed, then it becomes increasingly difficult to isolate problems to any one mod. Other mod authors will insist that you start a new game with ALL OTHER MODS uninstalled -- not just disabled -- and see for yourself that it works in isolation, then gradually install a few mods at a time until you can figure out what OTHER mod is making this mod not function.

About your comment on not being able to find Vokriinator: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/26702?tab=description

Vokriinator Black is basically every perk overhaul mashed into one, with the perks from each combined and connected. It seems to me like its fairly popular among some people if a bit absurd.

Thanks. That must be a new link because at the time (years ago now?) I tried a Nexus and Google Search for "Vokriinator" and didn't see any results.
