I have received some messages over the past year or so asking if CoT has been abandoned. The simple answer is no. When the time is right I will dust off the Creation Kit and get my hands dirty once again. Until then, I hope you keep enjoying what the mod brings to your gameplay and I will see you down th road.

When you get back to it, this could use some minor tweaks: options to adjust frequency of storms and volume of thunder, otherwise this does everything I want and expect. Good work.

Hey there thanks for posting your issue it helped figure out mine as well. I had instant CTD everytime I'd exit an interior cell. Here's a few lines from the crash log in case someone else is googling the same issue.
Attempting to uninstall the mod the way the mod author recommends (using fw 81a in an interior cell, save&exit then uninstalling) always lead me to a CTD on loading the save file after uninstalling. If I did not use the command and simply removed CoT, then loaded the same file, it seemingly worked just fine and was able to exit to any exterior area.

I was getting a very replicable CTD when exiting a building and I managed to narrow it down to CoT. I think it's to do with a particular weather (a rain or storm?), but downgrading to 5.5 solved the issue

My Game crashes to desktop between loading cells, such as entering/exiting buildings, towns, caves, etc...
Trainwreck Crash logger says it has something to do with "weather" and "sky".
This is the only Mod I have that changes weather and sky....
This crash didn't start happening until I upgraded my GPU to a newer Radeon RX 7800XT Nitro and bought a new Ultrawide Screen....
I used DDU to clean all my old GPU drivers.
