New! Added 'home service' which brings the drinks / meal ordering features to player homes.
Fixed some minor issues with tavern workers not correctly pouring drinks
Version 4.1.0 - Out now!
Added function to cancel out of food/drinks service for instances that the server NPC becomes 'stuck' and cannot deliver your order.
Holding Right Trigger will open a menu with the available service options. 'Hurry up!' is the preferred option, but 'Cancel my order!' can also be used to completely cancel the food / drink service and get a refund.
Fixed issues with controller roll axis detection when eating food. This would have prevent players from consuming food in some instances.
Added missing sound FX back to menu when placed in players hand.
This is a very well known VR mod and its features sound incredibly immersive. I did not hear people had issues using it and nothing was indicating existence of any patches, so I initially assumed that it use some clever tricks to insure compatibility. Unfortunately, it not the case. A lot of mod functions relying on cell edits, so any interior inn\tavern mods will have at least some (or a lot of) conflicts.
Patching all of this is way over my head, considering it involve moving various markers and triggers I have no familiarity with. I also do not believe people maintaining patch hubs going to provide VR support. So instead, I will remove all cell edits to avoid conflicts and use this mod… for sitting on ground, I guess? I will need to check if Campfire interactions work. Overall, this is unfortunate.
The mod simply adds a few markers and a couple of objects to the tavern cells. For the most part adjusting your load order would usually resolve any problems you may encounter with other tavern altering mods. If your load order is right then my cell edits would add said markers and objects over whatever tavern mod you installed. The only real instance I could see a problem arising would be if the interior cell had changed that much one of my markers was blocked.
I'm not in the mind set, nor do I have any inclination to make patches for tavern altering mods, there are too many and I don't use them. If it's not your bag either or above your skill set then... well...sorry?
The main page does infact mention mods which alter taverns under the compatibility section.....
The mod is called 'Be Seated'. It may surprise you to learn that its main function is indeed enabling players to use real life furniture with in game furniture when your character sits on it along side the sit anywhere VRIK guestures. The mod does have a bunch of secondary features which expand on Skyrims rather lackluster and pointless tavern experience. Of course it's entirely up to you if you find visual overhauls more appealing, you can use my additions or just ignore them....
Thank you for your rather pointless post. It was an unfortunate read and overall; A waste of my time.
I'm sorry if my comment seemed hostile, it was not intentional. I am not a native English speaker, so my tone may have come across as impolite. I did not mean to belittle this mod or a work you put into it.
However, changing load order, I am afraid, not going to be enough for proper compatibility. At least on two occasions I found duplicate furniture clipping through each other. In my understanding, this mean that one of these objects is new and placed there by one of the mods involved, rather than vanilla furniture moved around. Changing load order not going to resolve it. There are also other potential issues, like lighting. Any plugin, even one that have nothing to do with lighting, will overwrite things like lightning templates\imagespace. Something like this I could have fixed by myself, but all of it is also indicating that I have no idea what else can be wrong in ways that not obvious at first glance.
Almost any interior mods come with a few (or, sometimes, a dozen) patches for various mods, often ones I would not expect needed a patch. Some of this may not be critical, but still needed to integrate mods seamlessly. And when some patch that I would expect to find is missing they not necessary not needed, it might just mean that nobody with understanding of both mods had inclination to patch them. I do not have expertise of mod author, but I was moding on and off for years and, based on this experience, mods editing the same cell need patches, unless they specifically build around it. Like by using BOS instead of direct edits, or something like this.
Asking, for example, people working on JK's Interiors Patch Collection for a fix, also seem unreasonable. I believe they indicated that they do not have VR equipment available, so even if the patch is just a few cell edits, they will not be able to test it. The options are this: use both mods, hope for the best, but be prepared for something to be at least a little broken, or choose between two great mods. This is what I mean by “unfortunate”. I did not mean that you had to provide a patch, just indicated that at least some things will need to be patched for interior mods to work properly and that neither side are willing to do so.
Thank you for posting this. It is unfortunate that the mod author took your post so poorly. I thought I was going crazy with the issues I was seeing. It's helpful to know that others have similar issues with this and other mods (specifically JK's Sleeping Giant Inn in my case) and that no patch exists. I'd rather know that no patch exists than not, so this post was rather helpful and definitely not pointless as the author rudely suggested. Thank you.
Howdy, love your mod. Been using it for quite a while now. Two things have started happening recently that I have questions on:
1- PLANCK. I am a late adopter of PLANCK, and I noticed since installing it, I can no longer sit "ON" beds. Chairs are of course fine, but when I go to sit on a vanilla bed (custom house mods beds simply do not work if not vanilla beds), I end up sitting basically on the floor with my head and shoulders just above the center of the mattress. I have tried disabling PLANCK, and I am able to sit on the bed normally. I also tried just reinstalling Be Seated. No joy. Given that the camera height in be seated is already at 10 (as high as it can go), I cannot raise it further to actually appear to be on the bed.
2- VRIK somewhat recently got an update (April 3 this year). I have no idea what actually changed, but now my button push (default right thumbstick button press - Reverb G2) will not activate my sit anywhere. It used to work prior to the update of VRIK. As far as I know I have never had VRIK actions. Again, sitting in chairs is fine, but I can no longer just sit on the floor if I want.
I checked mod load placement, Be Seated is #43 on the list, so definitely within the first 126. Do you have any ideas that might point me in the right direction of how to workaround this, or is this something that may need an update patch?
1. Thats news to me but I'll try and have a look into it. Thanks for reporting. 2. I've not tried the most recent VRIK release, I'll check out whats going on with the 'Sit Anywhere' functions
So for whatever reason, I can do everything in this mod, but actually eat the food when given. The Tried all the food, and the spoon or fork won't pickup the food to eat it, And putting a drink to my mouth won't drink it. I use loot to sort my mods and i can't think of any mod that i have that would cause this. It used to work, But after reinstalling skyrim vr and redownloading all my mods, This got broken. Any ideas? And no "clean install skyrim" replies, Because i'm not redoing all my set up again, This is the only part of the mod that doesn't work.
I've not come across that issue, perhaps a clean re-install of the mod may help. I.E remove the mod, create a new save, clean the save with resaver and then re-install the mod.
your mod used to work well, but faced issues later down the line. I've done a clean install and save but the issue is still there. It might have to do with a stick drift issue I used to have but fixed that with sensor cleaner on my Quest 1 controller. idk if it still detects a minor drift and that causes me to get up. Also if I hold right trigger it doesnt make me get up unless I release it. Is there any way to change getting up from left thumbstick to a different key?
Getting up from furniture with your movement controls is the games default behaviour, you may be able to make a custom bind set which disables that at which point you'd have to activate the furniture to leave it.
I don't believe the issue is with this mod, the problem is likely caused by an incompatibility with another mod or excessive script lag on the users end. It is not something that I am able to reproduce with the current build.
So i am to order drinks just fine, but when i order food the npc stops responding and the food never gets to my table. I am also stuck and have to restart my game after ordering the foods.
If I could make a feature request? I would love to see a pot of tea be added. One you perhaps have to pour yourself. I know it's a long shot but I figure it wouldn't hurt to ask.
If you have BeSeated installed then you have the option to hire a servant called Aisling. If you removed the mod then make sure it is fully removed and you'll no longer have the option to hire her.
I am being endlessly force-fed food by the cook at every inn after I ordered one meal at the bannered mare it's actually game breaking because if the cook catches you you're stuck with no movement options.
For what it's worth the general flow that I did before this happened was sit at the front desk stool at the bannered mare, ordered food, ate it and got out of the chair a few seconds after it, I wasn't sure if there's a confirmation or anything that tells me it is okay for me to move or anything. then the bug showed up when I traveled to falkreath's inn.
Cows are at risk of going extinct with the amount of meat I am fed :(
I don't have any mods that edit taverns, but I do have mods that add npcs to them, like Lucien and Interesting NPCs specifically.
I just added Planck and updated HIGGS. Is this mod not compatible with HIGGS or Planck? Whenever I sit down with this mod, after a second it kicks me out of the chair, but when I turn off sitting prompts, I don't get kicked out of the chair and I stay sitting until i press forward on the analogue stick.
I believe the issue is caused by script lag. If you have something which is causing that in your game then BeSeated struggles to function correctly. When I get around to a bug fix patch I'll add in a configurable timer for the seating / standing mechanic which should negate the issue but really you want to address the root cause in your mod list..

I'd like to hire Aisling[BeSeatedQuest_IdliketoHireAisling]

AT first I thought my hand accidently pressed the controller button, but then I started to delibretaly test i out, and the problem was still there :\
I have a hunch to what could mod is probably causing this issue - but it's mostly a hunch
GIFT BY HAND VR
It's the only mod that i've added in my modlist that is script sided in my playthrough so far....
but I'm not sure haven't tested anything.
I'll bite the bullet in my playthrough for now.
