I mean dude's got a point. I have been trying to play totally vanilla, without the unofficial patch... And I constantly run into shout bugs, enemy bugs, duplicated spell entries and shouts.
The game is somehow *still* a mess vanilla and they have re-released it how many times now? Its not like the fixes are out of reach, as modders constantly fix the bugs.
DarkDominion It's getting old to have the same game breaking crap in game, it's getting old to sell and force the same crap on customers, it's getting old to defend predatory business practices. "Basic thing is : enjoy your game" - are you serious? The vanilla Skyrim, SE, AE, console editions, all these releases share the same bugs over and over again 10 years. Enjoy it as much as you can, because imo the Starfield Engine Edition is comming.
No one is holding a gun to your head to buy the next edition.
Definition of "predatory business practices" : " Unfair business practices encompass fraud, misrepresentation, and oppressive or unconscionable acts or practices by business, often against consumers, and are prohibited by law in many countries." You were saying ?
Like I said the first time: already fixed by modders years ago
Yes and no... It will have the Creation Engine 2, which means basically the same engine they have been using over the years, but modified to be next gen so that it doesn't even look like the old engine anymore.
Blaming Todd for the state of the game is mostly an ongoing joke within the community. That said, a lot of people share the same opinion regarding Bethesda's awful QA and play testing.
Yeah, the modders did fix a lot of the game-breaking bugs, and issues, but isn't that Bethesda's job in the first place? They do the same thing everytime they release a new game. Hell look at the huge clusterfuck that is Fallout 76's release.
The modders fixing the game doesn't justify them releasing newer versions of the game with the SAME ISSUES as the past versions of the game. To me and a lot of players, this just seems like a really god-awful practice.

It IS Bethesda's job to fix the bugs, and they've had 10 years to do it. They are lazily assuming that since modders are fixing the bugs they don't have to. I'm starting another game and have over 100 mods installed so far, and you know what? Over half of them are bug fix mods! I'd really like to use that space for mods that do fun and interesting things, and not just spend most of my time patching s#*! that Beth could've fixed years ago.
@ lem0nad3z Is this supposed to be an argument against any of the points that Dominion made? Stating obvious facts isn't shilling.
Definition of Shilling: an accomplice of a hawker, gambler, or swindler who acts as an enthusiastic customer to entice or encourage others.
Dominion obviously loves Bethesda as do many others. Stating obvious facts about a game one loves to someone who already owns the product isn't shilling by a long shot.
Sounds like a shill to me. You can like a company and criticize them at the same time. You both seem unable or unwilling to accept Bethesda's flaws and their own inability to fix the same bugs that have been around for 10 years, that they keep rereleasing. People don't want "everything in the game". People just want a working product.
@zlostnypopolnik Your comment aged so poorly. Starfield is awful. Probably their worst game if we don't count Fallout 76. Bethesda were fools to not take up Obsidian's offer to "fill in the gaps" between TES6 and FO5 with TES and FO Spin-offs. Guess they were afraid to be outdone once more as they were were when Obsidian made FONV which is still the best FO game imo.
Well, starbugger, I only half agree because the trouble with taking up Obsidian's offer is we don't really want Roman soldiers, Elvis Impersonators nor other totally silly factions shoe-horned into the Fallout Universe yet again for the sake of creating more ridiculous dilemmas - especially when we see the woke teen-dating, painfully unfunny humour and other drivel Obsidian put in Outer Worlds...
They're at a point where, honestly, there are enough mods in existence to fix a lot of technical faults/oversights that it's just not a good use of their time. It's already been fixed. Why fix it again? Just download USSEP and this mod and you're good to go.
I can safely say that it doesn't work on AE 1.6.640. It also breaks whole dialogue mechanisms when you remove it. You should probably use this one: Convenient Dialogue UI - SE
> It also breaks whole dialogue mechanisms when you remove it.
Makes zero sense whatsoever due to the nature of the mod being a SWF that has zero dependencies with other mods - and that Anniversary Edition is essentially just a repackaged SSE with a bunch of Creation Club mods - so it doesn't even use any SKSE based stuff.
Quoting Seighfryd :
> Yes, it works like a charm with all versions of Skyrim SE or AE update. Bethesda has not changed anything to dialogs since forever, so there are no conflicts at all.
And just to reiterate what ecirbaf said about AE, if you buy SSE instead of AE on GOG, it's literally the same game files and installer minus CC content - I bought the SSE and the installer even still uses AE in some of the folder pathing. And it's prob done that way so that it's easier if I later buy the AE upgrade - which GOG's upgrade product details confirm is literally just all the available CC content.
However, though it wouldn't/shouldn't impact an swf file in any way, when AE first came out there were reports of other mod issues ultimately due to SKSE needing an update, but that's apparently sorted now. However SSEdit still doesn't work out-of-the-box for GOG because the SSEdit folks presumably still can't be arsed (and at time of writing gave poor response on their Github etc). However, GOG users like myself, and others much better than me, figured out workarounds. See my Nexus page here, and GOG's thread here.
Yes, it works like a charm with all versions of Skyrim SE or AE update. Bethesda has not changed anything to dialogs since forever, so there are no conflicts at all.
That’s not true. On .1130 the UI in dialogues is extremely „narrow“ to the point where you can’t read properly what’s written on your screen whilst in a dialogue.
and by now there is no available fix, except you fixing it yourself, if you know how to
I think you can request it with SkyHUD (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/463) modifying the parameters of the skyhud.txt file. In my case I have the text part configured like this. [Scale] fClock=1fHealth=0.85fMagica=0.75fStamina=0.75fChargeMeter=0.85fCrosshair=1.0fCompass=1fCompassMarker=1.1fSubtitle=1.1fEnemyHealth=1.1fStealthMeter=0.75fLocationInfo=1fMessageInfo=0.85fArrowInfo=1fActivatePrompt=1fObjectiveText=1fLevelUpMeter=0.8fAnimatedLetters=1
You can adjust the parameters according to what you need.
If anyone asked me which mod I absolutely can't play without, this would be it. I swear, the dialogue controls are usually so annoying, but I haven't gotten the wrong option once since I installed this. Sincerely, thank you. (And for anyone who's just in the posts tab because they're wondering about compatibility, I've got the newest version of AE and about a hundred other dialogue mods, no issues at all)

Just disable this mod each time you want her to follow you.
Thanks for nothing, Todd...
Seriously, it's getting old, bashing Bethesda / Todd ...
If they would have put everything in the game that we mod authors have created the game would be unplayable.
Basic thing is : enjoy your game (with or without mods), that's all that matters

I choose to ignore you from now on.
Even being super careful, using both keyboard and mouse arrow to very specifically select an option, it would select another!
This mod is great : no plug-in and super efficient.
