V 2.8 is up! Remade the Solitude bath from scratch, it is now in its own cell and is more a bath house than a tub bath (see new screens) no more dressed guests getting stuck in tubs... Nearly all baths have now one or two bathers that do not leave the baths, they will move around in the bath and interact with additional Idle markers, lay on the rugs, sit on the rim of the tub that sort of thing. Right now they are very basic actors. Most all baths now have ambient music. All tub baths now have two benches in the largest tub. Riverwood bath was remade and has a different fireplace. Dawnstar bath has churning water in the largest tub, the idea being it is piped in from a hot spring. I hope you enjoy the new changes that several people have asked about over the years. Going forward this will be the file I use for any future changes!
V2.8.2 is up with several fixes: Fixed a missing transport marker to the bath at the Frozen hearth in Winterhold. Adjusted an idle marker and changed the lighting template in the new Solitude bath house, much better lighting but still warm ambiance. Ran the Facegen process again and this time included the files in both texture and meshes folders. Otherwise changes mentioned above for 2.8 still apply. Bathers are very simple actors and just mingle in the baths, they do not have their own dialogue. Check out the new screenshots for the new lighting template in Solitude and also notice the bathers facegen works.
An updated version is up now, changelog for V2.6: Moved several benches that were placed wrong and NPCs or the Player could get stuck in a wall, navmesh was adjusted as much as possible without deleting any. Fixed a missing structural post and closed a floor gap at the New Gnisis club.
Added bread ovens with supply barrels to the basement of the Winking Skeeve, The Bee and Barb and to the upstairs in the New Gnisis club.
Hopefully improved a navmesh issue at the Ivarstead barn so that cow and chickens roam properly.
Added a stepping block and adjusted clutter at the hearth at the Winking skeever so that whoever uses the pot does not float a foot off the ground :) Also new and not of my doing, now you can dive bomb into the tubs and make a splash with the new water effects ! :)
V 2.7 Changelog: After some players reported CTD after the most recent SE update I ran the mod through the CK again and made a few additions: All large bathtubs can now seat 4 people, so you can bring up to 3 followers in if you dare :) All bathing rooms have now a container for safe storage in case undressing would overburden you, just dump your gear in there when undressing and load it back up after. All benches inside tubs give now the Well rested perk.
V2.7.4 Removed the three Barns as requested to optimize compatibility with other mods.
I think bathing in the elder scrolls would be like taking a military bath. it's where you take a bucket of water, pour some over your body like a shower and get to work with a bar of soap. then again there is actual magic in this setting.
Came back to endorse. If/When dirt and blood adds interior bathing areas, great, but this is probably the best mod for bathing right now. My only issue so far in testing this is it sounds like I am underwater every time I'm in the winking skeever. I ended up having to reboot my game to get it to stop because it continued even after I went outside.
Will this mod work with Open Cities? I assume the interior changes will be no different but will the bath towers show on the exterior or not because Open Cities uses a different worldspace?
Wow, really impressed with this mod so far! I'm in Falkreath and noticing there is a random-looking basement entrance in the floor which leads to a strange spacious hallway. It seems kind of out of place, was wondering if that was part of this mod or no. I'm also noticing the bathing room in the Falkreath inn has a stuttering fur rug right next to the door. Just wanted to give a heads up!
Hey thanks for the comment, glad you like the mod but I recommend that you give my "Cozy Taverns" a try. It is the direct successor to this mod and has a bit more to offer, and hopefully no "stuttering rug" ;) The hatch and tunnel is from another mod, I placed nothing like it in my mod. Have you used another bath mod for Taverns before? There are several that basically utelize a cellar accessed by a trap door, if you used one this could be a left over artifact in your save file.
Thank you for replying! Maybe the cellar is from one of the immersive npcs or populated lands mods. If I switch to your cozy taverns from this one in an existing save do you think it will mess the game up too much? I really don't want to have to start over again lol
Hi, you should be able to switch over without any loss because I never renamed the esp. file; it will still be named "Friendlier Taverns" in your load order. However, make sure that you read the descriptions as there are several versions and some have dependencies this original version does not have; for example all latest versions of "Cozy Taverns" will require Campfire by Chesko as a master. But there are also many fixes like the stuttering rug issue and there is a very nice visual overhaul for the NPC's of my mod available that fixes the red face bug on the females. There is a link to that mod on my page. Hope you enjoy both ;)
