this would easily be the best combat music mod on nexus if all the tracks were smoothed out to not be so loud.. this mod is very old so I don't think it will ever be updated but if theres a chance, and you are still modding, please make them all have similar audio levels so some aren't blaring and others aren't muffled
Audio quality varies per track (some are clear, some are oversampled, some are quieter, some are semi-muffled), but overall the atmosphere of the songs are consistent: intense, blood rushed, and heart pumping.
I would say out of the 150ish samples provided, I found use of about 60 for my personal taste, so there is certainly something for everyone here!
This mod blew me away. Staring down the high Hrothgar frost troll, waiting for him to jump down from his cliff was super intense, and will be seared into my memory. I also really like the Whiterun music and the giant spider battle music was amazing. thanks, you may have introduced me too a whole new genre of music.
I decided to give this mod a shot despite the lack of description or change notes.
--- Trigger Rate --- Tested with other sound mods present: Combat music would not play. Repaired game, tested as solo audio mod: Combat music played 80% of the time (when combat initiated) indoors, 50% of the time in outside cells. this is slightly annoying, especially when you are facing a bandit hoard and the regular explore OST is chirping away cheerfully.
--- Audio Quality --- Varied, some tracks were very crisp, others somewhat muddy. There were different volume levels which felt inconsistent.
--- Variety --- Superb, I never heard the same combat track twice. Most tracks were pretty solid, some outstanding, some very misplaced; main offenders being 'Braveheart' and XCOM's 'Snap Shot'.
--- Final Thoughts --- I really wanted to like and use this mod - on Oldrim's Steam Workshop was a great music splice mod which added in music from Gladiator and so forth. The key difference there though was that it was compatible with other mods, it integrated into the OST and worked 100% of the time. I hope the author of this mod in future takes some time to just polish up the description and tries to find a way to integrate rather then replace.
Some tracks fit the game very well, while others sound out of place. The quality of various pieces are poor. However, the variety is quite nice. More tweaking and quality assurance would greatly benefit this mod.
How do I add Extreme Music - Combat (New) with MO2? It says in the readme.txt that i should add it to the music mod folder but i dont know how to do that really...
Actually, I think these need a little more work than that. Some of the additional mods seem to have the proper folder structure, but a lot of them (mostly the combat ones, if I'm not mistaken) need more work. These ones contain a text file that instructs you to put the files "...in the folder where are the musics of this mod..."
I think in those instances, you actually need to create the proper subfolder (Music \ Combat) and move the files there. They will then overwrite the ones in the main mod.
This doesn't appear to need doing for all the ones labeled combat music (for instance, the Special Cart Intro seems to already have the right folder structure), nor for the exploration music, or some of the others. But some, like the Extreme Music - Combat (New) do seem to need some work in order to get the new music.

I just sat and listened to them while working on other things (using Foobar (foobar2000) player that plays XWM files by default), and just checked off each one that I liked in an excel file, and then went back and injected them into the locations that I wanted them played using Personalized Music - Skyrim Special Edition at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community.
