ABOUT THE VOICED ADDON AND THE 2.0.0 UPDATE OF UNSLAAD: Yes, only act 1 is voiced now. And it will remain so for the foreseeable future, until GLENMORIL is finished. Please don't complain.
The reasoning for this decision is as follows: with the latest update, UNSLAAD is now quite firmly connected with both VIGILANT and GLENMORIL. At least one character appears in quite major role in all three mods and several in smaller ones. And the stories of those characters are not yet over in GLENMORIL, so it makes no sense to start a voicing project now without the guarantee that the voice actors will be able to return in a year or two years' time. And I'd like to keep those voiced addons as consistent as possible with minimal amount of redoing stuff for everyone.
The current plan is therefore to wait until GLENMORIL is finished, all translations finalized and the stories told in the mods understood as well as possible (yes, UNSLAAD gets perhaps as heavy as VIGILANT now) until any work on voicing starts. When that time comes, all three mods will be voiced in one go for the sake of quality and consistency. And yes, that means that VIGILANT is getting remastered.
So, we have some waiting in front of us. Maybe 6 months. Maybe a year. Maybe two. Maybe more. I don't know. But I'll be here, ready to work on these mods again, because they're more than worth my time. I hope you will still be here, too.

Translation revision incoming ... soonTM
While we're waiting for the entire trilogy (Vigilant + Glenmoril + Unslaad) to be finished, I am currently also working on translation revisions, both to prepare the ground for the future (re)voicing project and to introduce more consistency across all three mods.
Some info on what this entails:
typo corrections (there are miraculously not that many, but they still drive me up the wall)
redone translation where needed (because there are unfortunately some mistakes in the translation, too, though nothing that would totally change anything)
better consistency in item, location, magic effect, and NPC naming conventions across all three mods (if something appears in Vigilant and is then mentioned or appears again in Glenmoril and Unslaad, that thing will be named the same - this is not always the case at the moment)
item and spell descriptions will mimic those found in the vanilla game in style (maybe feels nitpicky, but I want more consistency)
more natural flow in books and dialogue (easier to read/speak out loud for future VAs)
made a lot of the vague/strange/gibberish in the books a little more understandable (don't worry, those weirder than weird books about Ja'bal and the Eggs/Chicks/Chickens are still weird and nonsensical ... but they can be understood now provided you have some hindsight from the entire trilogy, know a lot about the stranger TES lore and possibly read Vicn's blog ... and I realize this isn't very helpful)
paid even more attention to both TES lore and external influences (seen mostly in some item names or descriptions where it makes sense, but otherwise most players likely won't notice anything much here ... just know that my translation spreadsheets are full of links and comments and I probably still haven't caught all the references)
all the text thoroughly checked with Grammarly and ProWritingAid (the current translation isn't checked at all, and you may or may not have noticed that English isn't actually my first language, either)
...
Know that this means big changes; once this revision is done and I'm happy with it, the revised translation will likely be very different from the one currently uploaded here. This doesn't mean that the story conveyed in the mod will suddenly change or something like that - it just means that the translation will be better and more accurate in all regards ... and that currently voiced dialogue may not match the subtitles all that well anymore (but what is said will essentially remain the same).
Revised translation will be uploaded as an optional, SILENT file at first and it will be entirely your decision whether you'll combine it with the current voiced addon or not. However, once I'm reasonably sure that the trilogy is finished, all the voice work will be done with the revised translation in mind.
When is it coming out? When it's done. But I did finish everything but the books and dialogue for all three mods already, and while that is the largest chunk of all the text, it's also the most enjoyable part of the translation process (even if it means spending three hours analyzing the books about Ja'bal and the utter insanity the Pipers love to spout so much). :)
And who knows, I might even try something with the AI voicing while we wait for Vicn to complete the trilogy for good. No promises on that, though.
Come discuss the trilogy, be up to date on the state of mods, translations, Vicn's blog updates, find answers about the story, etc. Note: the server is not technical support in any way. If you have modding-related issues, there are other places to solve those problems.
For those of you who absolutely cannot stand silent or only partially voiced dialogue, rejoice - cupcakeninja64 has released an xVASynth fully voiced addon for Glenmoril and Unslaad. It will sound a bit robotic but it should be good enough until human voiced addons are created. Enjoy. :)
No, because there's nothing to fix - this is simply how translations work. Translated plugin is a replacer for the original plugin.
Meaning, you need to use Unslaad.esm from here if you want the mod to be in proper English. You still need the .bsa and any other loose files from Unslaad itself, however. This is only a translation.
Hello, would it be possible to make the previous version 3.0.1 available to download? I use a collection that has Unslaad v3.0.1 and was not recommended to update, however the collection downloaded this english addon at v3.0.2 since there isn't the ability download the previous version and now there is a conflict between ESM and BSA version mismatch. Thank you!
Nothing. The conflict is most likely in Credits.txt file, which is named the same in both mods and absolutely harmless - it's just a text file with voice actors listed. If you have any other conflicts, I don't know what to tell you. Nothing else should be conflicting between the two mods.
New update for Unslaad (3.0.2) today ! Does this mean update in translation too ? Checking the changelog from Vicn, it looks more as corrections and esthetical changes, but there might be something else ? Anyway once again, Aelarr, a big big thank you for your high quality work !
It was middle of the night for me when Unslaad updated. I'll be hiding the translation now and will probably update over the course of the day (if work remains quiet).
With ElevenLabs Ai being one of the biggest breakthroughs in realistic sounding voice files, I was thinking that Unslaad and Glenmoril would be perfect candidates for an addon using this technology. What do you think?
I've had a discussion on it with some of my VAs from Vigilant and for now the decision is not to use it or allow anyone else to do it, for various moral and ethical concerns - unless by some miracle Bethesda/their VAs come out and give it an OK to generate voices. My Vigilant VAs are certainly not OK with their voices being used like this.
Don't get me wrong, it's tempting and it could work as a placeholder until actual VA is done, but at the moment it's too much of a gray area.
But can't you use other voices like the voice type provided by ElevenAI? You can do half voice actors and half ElevenAI. Already voiced characters can continue to be voice acted and any new unvoiced characters could be generated.
So, by no means is this meant to start an argument and I'm quite satisfied with y'all's decisions and am perfectly content to be patient to wait to play all of Vicn's complete trilogy fully voiced and remastered/patched in one go.... I felt the urge to play the Daedra's advocate.
It occurred to me (and honestly, I'm not so arrogant as to imagine this idea so profound that no one has thought of it nor raised said concern to y'all already) that hypothetically at least should one or more of the VAs be unavailable come Vicn's completion of Glenmoril, then it could end up that neither Glenmoril nor Unslaad ever get a fully voiced patch. Basically I'm suggesting that the decision to not do this could lead to simply less output, whilst rendering the tradeoff reasons given above for why such an eventuality occurred being rendered rather pointless in hindsight.
Again, this likely isn't nearly as deep as I'm thinking it is in my head. I apologize for my uncontrollable urge to post what may come across as a backhanded and combative comment, I give my word for whatever you feel it's worth that starting a row was not at all my intent. Feel free to delete it if you wish, Aelarr. I just had to put my thoughts on the matter out there. Either way, as before I'm perfectly satisfied with the decisions made prior. There will always be other great mods to experience.
I get questions/opinions like this all the time (on Discord if not here). I never said I will go hunt down all of the original VAs from Vigilant - if I can get them back, awesome (and I do have some that are very willing to wait for the trilogy's completion to reprise their roles). If not, their characters will be revoiced; they won't be left just hanging there. Original VAs will still be credited, of course.
But no, I will absolutely not start the voicing right now, knowing that at least two of the mods are still about to receive content updates (Unslaad is, in fact, about to receive quite a huge epilogue sometime soonish). I understand the worry, but this is the stance I am not budging from.
The trilogy will be voiced. In its entirety. But only when it makes sense to do so and right now, it doesn't.
@Aelarr "But only when it makes sense to do so and right now, it doesn't." I agree, but will you make a voiceless English version of the new 1.72b ? (this is why your english text is much more better than the machine translation of Vicn and I prefer to use your English version to translate to German ;-)

And no. Not until the entire trilogy is finished. Both Vigilant and Unslaad were voiced far too soon.

Probably not gonna need to do a whole lot to update the translation.
EDIT: Done. Much earlier than I thought, too.
