excellent. been looking for something like this for a long time.
for anyone who has played with the Hardcore module from ELFX, this is the same experience. Using only the hardcore dungeons module from Climates of Tamriel, I paired that module with this mods esp and it creates pitch black dungeons. You cant see anything without a torch or magic light.
For some reason the glow from fires & smoke from candles are still there, it's darker in the area without light & there aren't any flames, just the smoke/glow still remain...
Ok, Lots of Questions. The difference between this and the 'Darker Skyrim' is that in this(Lightless Abandon) mod I actually switched the lights from on and replaced with ones there are not on in those Abandon Dungeons, and it is darker in this mod overall. 'Darker Skyrim' mod only sets the light templates of all dungeons darker overall but keeps those lights on where they are so there is a choice. I like my dungeons very dark though b/c Ill memorize the maps on the first go around if I can see well.
It is better with both because the bandit dungeons are not touched in this mod.
What I classify as 'abandon' is non living beings that require light, more or less. I know that in lore the Drugar light crypts so there are a few of those dungeons with lit candles and torches etc... Falmer are completely dark, it just made sense for them to have that kind of advantage. Vampires still have light b/c they will have thralls that are still 'living' and would need to see light at times. Silversword groups, not always in their dungeons, will have light on in their dungeons. Most crypts, mines(not used by towns or villages), most dwemer ruins are partially off and flickering except their top floor are lightless.
There are some lights in dungeons I would have liked to turn off but were connected to quests or triggers that I planned on leaving alone. I am also working on the torches that you can remove from sconces so I left many on and looking to disable them.
Some dungeons are mixed where bandits would be on the first level and the second level down would be falmer, drugar, or dwemer machines so you might find that those second floors and lower will be off while the top side is on.
I left Bleak Falls alone for those who are just starting out at first level.
I am still working on this project but I have a lot of projects Im in the middle of so I will be updating it as I play test or read any issues on this or other forums.
Thanks for the Feedback. Ill keep reading and seeing anything I can do to make things even better.
Most of my projects will be split up into small bits so I don't overlap works-in-progress. At some point when the large project is complete Ill just combine them all.
Your follower will be able to see in the darkness for the most part. If you give them a torch they will hold it though so I know they can determine the difference between darkness but they seem to be able to see better in the dark out of the box.
Lore my ass, Bethesda was just lazy with explaining why are there lit torches, braziers and candles all over a thousand years old crypt. Oblivion did better with it's dungeons. The torch/nighteye was invaluable and traps were actually deadly.

Edit: nevermind. I figured it out.

Again, thanks for the Feedback!
Edit: figured out what i was doing wrong. It needed to be above RLO.
But Drauger tombs and Dwemer ruins in Skyrim? It's like they still have people living in them!
Lazy ass Bethesda.
