Many thanks for this! Noticed this bug about 50 hours into my currently play through on my custom player home with every single mannequin, 10 total. Can also confirm this works on SSE; if, the instructions are read and followed :)
Hello. Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm playing the Special Edition and I have the unnoficial patch installed, but somehow I've had the duping bug. It started when the mannequin in lakeview manor cellar moved. I tried to fix it by removing a item from the mannequin and putting it back in, but it refused to go in the mannequin. After that i started having the set armor appear in my inventory every time I went inside the cellar. Should I install the hotfix? Would it work?
I've personally never tried these scripts in SSE, but other commenters have reported they work as intended. If you're willing to try it, this is the process:
save in advance somewhere that isn't where the mannequin is
Didn't work for me with Special Edition. The file structure for Steam doesn't have a /Script folder so I used /Data instead. Five mannequins are bugged. One in Solstheim, two in Lakeview manor, and two in Windstad Manor. Have tried every solution on the net to no avail. All that's left is the unofficial patch and don't want to create a Bethesda account so looks like I'm screwed.
itens where appearing on my inventory and i could equip armors in one mannequin this bugfix fixed it but now evertime i change cell they get naked unnequiping all armor the armor is on theyr inventory but they unnequip everthing :(
The hotfix is not meant to be used as a permanent mod. It's a temporary fix to forcibly reset the mannequin's data. Once you've used the hotfix to deal with a broken mannequin, I strongly recommend you remove it and install either the normal version of this mod, or another mod that also prevents the duping bug from starting.
after install the main file too this second problem are solved tyvm ^^ but now i confused i need to uncheck the fix? this will not unmake the fix on the mannequins?
The main file overwrites the hotfix anyway. The problem that broke the mannequins is tied to some data they were storing. The hotfix makes them get rid of that data, which "fixes" the problem but also makes the mannequins stop holding things if you leave it installed.
The main file is set up to prevent the mannequins from breaking again, so once you fix them you're good to remove the hotfix or overwrite it with the main file. You seem to have taken the second approach.
If you installed the main file, you've already effectively removed the hotfix. Both the hotfix and the main file are edits to the same script, so which ever one is later in the load order "wins" and overwrites the earlier one.
Thank you. This one worked for me, with the mannequins in Hendraheim on Skyrim SE Anniversary Upgrade. Btw, I use the regular file, not the hotfix. And the mannequins were already duplicating items.
For me, this only partially fixed the problem, despite going through the entire process twice. The mannequin in my house can take a few more items than it could before, but still has the same issue.
Supposedly the unofficial patch for special edition includes a fix that prevents the issue. As for whether the scripts in this file would work, I've never had occasion to look into it or try.
This was fixed in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, making this mod mostly obsolete.
It would be nice to mention it in the description, as this mod would only be used by those who do not want USKP.
If users still experience this issue with USKP, they should first check their load order for things that overwrite USKP's files and then apply appropriate compatibility patches.

Thanks again!

Such a hateful bug.
