First off, I want to thank everyone for the awesome comments! I'm still learning, but this has made it all worthwhile, having other people enjoy it as much as I am.
I never anticipated this kind of response, so a huge thanks for welcoming me into this modding community. You are turning me into an actual modder! Also, thanks so much for all of the images. There's so many, I haven't added all of them. Your characters look amazing!!! I really couldn't be happier!
****V2,1 UPDATE****4/6/18 Released!!! See description. Adds a heavy variant, crafting, and an infinite number of little tweaks. Oh, and I added some pants for those that asked for them.
Future: -***Female version***- Female version: UPDATE: Sorry for the delay. The male version just is not working well enough for females, so I'm just going to make it from scratch. I've learned just enough of the process to get it done...just finishing my learner project now: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/700645
That said, there's some stuff I really want to do on both the male and female versions that I couldn't pull off with the meshes available. I've picked up Maya and I'm in the process of making my own custom meshes for a more realistic portrayal of the kilt. I'm also working on an Arisaidh (with variations) for a more traditional female look.
-Additional Tartans- What isn't done at V2.0 release will be released as they are finished. Requests so far (So I can keep track): *Bryan ***needs clarification*** I've caught up on the requests. That was no small amount of work, and some were a struggle due to source files, colors/color combinations...just because it looks good in Gimp doesn't mean it looks good in game! I did the best I could with what I had. I hope you enjoy them. Any new requests will be a while before I can get back to tartans. *MacKintosh *Clan Fraser of Lovat *Colquhoun *Gunn *Ramsayy Ancient Blue *Stewart Hunting *MacKay *Cochrane Hunting
-SSE conversion- HUGE thanks to MacBran for porting to SSE: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16698/
If I missed your suggestion, my apologies. There are some that I can't address at the moment...keep in mind that I only just started modding, and still have much to learn.
****HUGE Credit to AltheaR for finding and fixing an issue that could cause CTD*** ****Also big thanks to travelmedic for finiding my packaging mistake that for the life of me I just couldn't see**** Again, thanks!
It's a *massive* shame that @MacGrioghair seems to have stopped modding since 2018. Not only is this mod gorgeous and well thought out, he seems genuinely lovely. I only wish I had the skills to help revive it. So much promise!
I decided to come back to Skyrim after years away and was hoping that kilts would have been added to the PS4. I can’t find you mod in the mod shop from the games Home Screen though. I’m not very techy and as a husband and a father I don’t get to play very often, so I’m hoping someone can help me out here. How do I get this on the PS4? Or is it out there and I’m just missing it?
~Thanks in advance for any assistance or clarification that can be provided.
Hello I am a bit confused because every time I equip the armor the game crashes. Even when I get the armor to work the outer body texture is over the top of the kilt and when I remove my gauntlets the game crashes. Please help anyone!
How do you even get the id number i put in player.additem (the number before the name of armour piece) 1 doesnt work then try clicking on the number doesnt work so you know help please.
Have you thought about putting the great kilt over JedroDre's Celtic chainmail? Stylistically it'd look amazing. Not to mention I've been trying to get a female version of that armor for ages. The permissions for that mod is pretty open iirc and is in his Historical Revival mod.
Love this mod! I know you're probably flooded by requests, but seeing you combine the Blades armour with the kilt gave me an idea: chainmail hauberk (sleeved or short-sleeved). Pretty please?
Why would someone put a kilt on chainmail and then call it Viking? The vikings and Celts are not interchangeable and have historically not gotten on well.
I'm sure you already have some in mind but I would like to see some heavy armour top pieces to go with the heavy version from V2.1 such as steel, steel plate, nordic, iron/banded iron and, if possible, a chainmail version would also look great imo. Great job so far on the mod, endorsed!
Yes, it's in the plans for sure. I"m currently trying to figure out a way to make everything modular for greater customization. When I get that sorted, I'll release more tops armors. Somehow my wee personal kilt project has gotten a life of it's own!o.o
FWIW, Hothtrooper made a chainmail-with-kilt mod called Viking Chainmail Armor. Several other modders have also made stabs at incorporating tartans and armour, though none so correctly as this.
