Such are the limitations of some mods. I have a feeling the person who made the mod knows that. But it looks like the hand is in the position for holding a torch, and thus... It holds the lantern really funny.
Heat rises and top becomes very hot. Some lanterns which can be carried have handles at the back for carrying as well as the top for hanging. Of course, depends on the type of lantern and how long the top handle is.
Can't find any lanterns in my crafting menu ... I've been using v1.3 but wanted to try v2.0 to get rid of the raging flame on my lantern. Also, in the newest version, do they burn out after a while? I use a mod so that nights and dungeons are reaaally dark, and I need a reliable light source (torches last for a short time and candlelight has to be refreshed very often). It would be annoying to have to make new lanterns all the time. Can't say I'm really interested in having golden lanterns with oddly coloured light either. Could you do a simple version where wieldable, everlasting lanterns replace all the normal unusable ones (no crafting), without the huge flame and with a bigger light radius? That would be great.
Sorry if I'm sounding demanding, this is actually a very awesome mod. I have endorsed it
I did get it to work but had to buy the recipes again. The first set got deleted or otherwise disappeared for some reason. I don't know if I need them in my inventory but I'll avoid dropping these.
The lanterns work great. I really wanted lanterns I could drop and use as light sources at my Skyrim houses. :-) I just wish you could manipulate objects as well as you could in Fallout. At least there you could grab the top of something rather than bashing it around until it's upright. :-|
Same here. No lanterns showing up in my crafting menu. I use a few other mods that add craftable items and use Wrye Bash to help them work together. The other mods seem to work fine nut no lanterns.
I am only using the most current version of the file (2.0) with none of the optional files. Am I missing something?
I also can't get the lanterns to show on any of the forge crafting menus after purchasing the recipes. Do I need them in inventory?
I have Headbomb's Smithing Perks Overhaul and HothTrooper44's Viking Chainmail Armor and I do see that and other custom items on the crafting menu for forges. I have every smithing perk except Daedric at the moment although I understand that shouldn't matter.
I love this mod, it feels much more realistic. Torches always felt a little bit 'caveman', if that makes sense.
The only thing I would say is when in 3rd person the candle seems to be completely on fire, much like the head of a torch only with a metal case. I primarily play in 1st person so it isn't a huge problem but just something for 3rd person players to consider.

Id like to have a theme of red light lanterns to go with the mod Lanterns of Skyrim
