I no longer provide any active support for any of my mods for LE. However, I keep them up for the sake of archiving.

Great Job,   I hope others Mods create weapons or items that use aetherium for crafting,  I love the history of Katria,   and this Mod deserves more Endorsements

I'd like to combine this Mod with Aetherium Armor and Weapons Compilation https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/23530 (Specifically the portion of this mod that lets you mine aetherium with that Amazing looking pickaxe.)

This is a personal project (Won't be posting the results anywhere so I won't need permission to do it.) but I've been waiting for this kind of mod to come out for a long time and I'm happy to finally see someone do it :D

I also like the fact that you can get Soul Gems as drops from mining, makes sense to me.

I'll probably end up messing around with the mods on my own but if you or anyone else could give me some pointers then that would be excellent :D

I'd like to replace this mod's aetherium ore (All the values and stuff) with Aetherium Armor and Weapons Compilation's ore for simplicity sake... I'm not sure if I actually need to manually merge these two mods together with a patch or if I can simply install this mod first and then replace the Ore and other conflicting files with AAWC's after the fact.

Thanks again for making this impressive mod, really looking forward to doing a new playthrough with it. :D

I'm glad you like the mod. If you ever want to publish the mod, you have my permission. (I can't speak for the other mod you mentioned though.)

Personally, I think it would make sense to be able to smelt Aetherium Ore into Aetherium Ingots, which in turn can be crafting into armor and weapons.

      Kind regards

      Andre

      Thanks so much bud :D

Good news is that if I make a patch instead of a merge then I think I can just upload it without getting permission from the other mod author.

I'm also thrilled that you gave me permission to do this, didn't want to impose and ask for permission if it was just going to be a personal project (Authors have a lot of other things they have to worry about so I try to make it easier for them.)

So yeah, thanks so much, glad you approve of the idea and I'll let you know when the project's complete.

I've been playing with this, noticed a few things.

    1) I don't know what your intent was with the wait interval. The way you have it set up it is on for 1 day then off for 8 days (9 day cycle). In Oblivion it was on for 1 day and off for 7 days (an 8 day cycle). Works either way, just how you wanted it to work. I had to look at the code to see that was what you were doing.
    2) It would be nice if your OnInit() normalized the time to coincide with the day, so that the Shade of the Revenant occurs between midnight and midnight. Just need to check the game time there. So if it starts running at 5 am, just subtract five hours from the first wait and it should sync up.
    3) I converted 50 gems and it didn't move the Conjuration experience bar at all. I think that is in a script and it's probably modified by USLEEP to get rid of the exploit of casting soul trap on a dead wolf. It may be too much trouble to make it work. I'm doing real work with my soul trap spell (at the expense of an empty grand soul gem, so not exactly cheap) so it seems like it should count towards XP.
    4) It seems like I'm getting perhaps too much soul gem dust as random drops? I could go either way with the soul gem fragments, at least there's an extra step involved before I can use them. Maybe just tone things down a little?

My apologies for my extremely late response, but I now am willing to look into these issues.

      1) That should be easily fixable.

      2) I'm a puzzled by this, but I think I can make it work, by using these lines:

      GlobalVariable Property Gamehour Auto

      Float ExtraHours

      Event OnInit()
      ExtraHours = (24.0 - (Gamehour.GetValue() as Float)
      RegisterForSingleUpdateGameTime(ExtraHours + (24.0*6))
      EndEvent

Would this work to sync up to midnight?

      3) I can put some conjuration xp gain in the soul gem conversion script.

      4) You say "too much soul gem dust". Do you mean it shows up too often? Or the quantity of soul gem dust you get per time it shows up?

Is it safe to update from v1.0 to v1.5 mid-playthrough with these new script-changes?

      @ArgonianSoldier

I cannot say for sure. But you could take the following steps:

      - First of all, make a backup of your existing save, just in case.
      - Uninstall the previous version and make a save without it.
      - Clean said save using a save game script cleaner (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363 or https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/76776) to remove any orphaned scripts
      - Load the "cleaned save" and make a new save.
      - Install the latest version of this mod and load the last save.
      - Continue playing.

I assume this will work, but I cannot guarantee it, so always keep a backup, just in case.

    Endorsed.
So far, so good. I've got a few thoughts.
The pickaxe model is great, hoping you get display during mining working, I've no idea how that works.
I now need two pickaxes, one for stalhrim and one for aetherium, but either one works for everything else. My secret servant can carry my spare, it's all good.
Such a unique artifact should be worth more than 5 gold, don't you think?
How does my character learn how to use the altars? The player can read the front page, but I can't imagine that the ritual is common knowledge. In TES4 there was a whole quest to learn how. I'm thinking Tar-Meena (the librarian at Arcane University) wrote a book describing it so that the knowledge wouldn't be lost. My character somehow gets hold of it.
If you don't have anything specific in mind for the alchemical properties of sould gem powder, may I suggest fortify conjuration (obvious reasons), restore health, restore stamina, restore magicka? That lets us make a three ingredient well-being potion, which is otherwise not possible. Just a thought.
I'm not sure where you're going with the aetherium ore. I like the idea, Katria in her journal speculates that the source for aetherium was somewhere deep below Raldbthar, which could certainly mean Blackreach. The problem is that the wiki lists 34 geode veins in Blackreach. If each one yields 3 ore that means 102 ore in one visit (and it respawns in 10 days). If two aetherium ore yields one ingot, that makes aetherium pretty common, and it seems like it was quite rare even for the Dwemer.
Suppose the aetherium ore grade is poor -- the veins yield the normal amount of ore, but there is only a tiny amount of aetherium in a chunk of ore. You can only work aetherium at the Forge, maybe you can only smelt the ore there as well. Instead of two ore making one ingot, maybe 100 ore makes one aetherium crest, so a single visit to Blackreach lets you make a single crest that you can then use to make one of the two items you couldn't make in the vanilla quest.
Or maybe you were going some other direction completely.

Thank you for your feedback. It's really useful.

So, to sum up, you are suggesting to:

      1. Increase value of pickaxe from 5 to something like 1000?
      2. Add a book that needs to be read before being able to convert soul gems. Through a book from Oblivion. Any idea how it was called again?
      3. Change alchemical effects of Soul Gem Dust to Fortify Conjuration, Restore Health, Restore Magicka, Restore Health.
      4. Add recipe to turn Aetherium Ore into Aetherium Crest at the Aetherium Forge -> 100 Ore = 1 Crest.

      1. Certainly more than 5 which is a standard pickaxe. Sure, 1000 seems reasonable, or a few hundred at least.
      2. The quest was from Oblivion, but there was never a book. I just sent you a forum message with a little book I wrote that you could modify as you see fit, or at least a starting point for you.
      3. That's just a set of effects I've had in mind to make a potion we haven't been able to make. Soul gem dust plus (charred skeever hide or eye of saber cat) plus red mountain flower. I haven't tested it for negative effects, but I think it would work.
      4. Like I said, I have no idea where you intend to go with the aetherium ore. This would be a way to preserve rarity and still let us craft the other two items. I'm sure other solutions are possible.

EDIT: just tested those alchemical effects. Both potions work, no side effects. My maxed alchemist without fortify alchemy gear made magnitude 94, and the ultimate potion of well-being (from Dragonborn) is magnitude 100, so it's just about right.
EDIT: the ancient nordic pickaxe is value 500, and that is rare but not unique. So maybe the ancient dwemer pickaxe is a bit more than that.
EDIT: I'm running Billyro's replacer for the ancient nordic pickaxe, and his shows up during the mining animation. Maybe you could look at what he did, or send him a message and ask him how he did it?

Okay, I've uploaded a new version with the changes. Some things, though:

      - I've answered your PM, with some more details.
      - The problem with the pickaxe animation is to make it unique and only make it happen when the player is wearing The Ancient Dwarven pickaxe. Someone else posted me an entire guide on how to do it, but unfortunately myself I can't do mesh editting that well (which is required), so I'll have to wait for Kelretu to make the changes.

Quote " You can grind down Soul Gems into dust at a grain mill."

What you mean by this??? Is it some special kind of Dust?? or what's the use?

It's an alchemical ingredient, which you can use to make potions/poisons.

In the future I might give it some more use, though.

      Thanks :)

I'm not sure how it conflicts with complete crafting overhaul, but I assume it has something to do with crafting recipes (for grinding down soul gems) and the script properties in the Ore mining script?

Is there anything else that requires patching?

Edit: I added a patch for CCOR.
