Because you're on a mod still on Oldrim (first Skyrim version to be released in the 11.11.11 (a glorious date!)).

Sadly, there is no port for this mod (yet), and since 2017 :/

I'm currently not engaged in Skyrim any more. Anyone reading this has permission to port this mod to special edition as long as you link me/the original mod with credit.

    Hello ElAhrairaha,
Thank you for a wonderfully minimalist player home. It is the perfect place for my monk(unarmed) character to call home.
I strongly agree with your 3 critiques of most other player homes. Thank you for your efforts, and keep up the good work.

    Hey ElAhrairaha,

I sent a permission request in your PM but you didn't respond so I'll ask here in your comment section. I'd like to use your mod as a home for a companion mod, Aurlyn Dawnstone. It's a commercial-free mod.

Also I found a bug with the room cell. It is not internally linked as a child of HighHrothgar location. I was able to detect it because Aurlyn has certain line of dialogue that should only appear when she's in HH. While inside the room those lines don't appear.

Interesting place for a player home.

Aside from maybe adding more decorative, more books maybe? it's a place of "study" after all? I think the lighting could use a bit of enhancement.
Majority of ENBs out there are rather bright so probably you didn't see what I've seen with K-ENB Pure Light (good strong shadow & darkness). I manually popped some blue and orange lights with console command to lighten up those corners, giving the area overall better lighting and mood to it (screen above). Maybe changing most of the braziers to blue and add light to them will balance out the central's warm lighting. I added lights with console command to every single brazier in the room, didn't see any glitch so I suppose they are fine.

Sorry for replying so late. Yes, I struggled a lot on this project with choices regarding lighting. I worked entirely off of vanilla lighting, and a lot of my time went into attempting to avoid weird lighting angles and struggling with the way shadowed lights interact with each other. I didn't much care for the look of having a bunch of lights that didn't cast shadows, and since the engine is limited to three or four I believe I had to be stingy. In vanilla, it's supposed to look a little dark and austere and cold, with an icy inspiring gentle light surrounding the word wall, with the inviting, cozy aspect located around the fireplace.

As far as decorations and books go, I was working off a philosophy of making something that integrated with the vanilla experience well. I *love* really detailed player homes, but quite frankly most of them go so above and beyond that it's almost immersion breaking when you enter any other interior and see how sparse they are by comparison. So in making this, I made it a point to tread carefully between the details and comforts of a player home mod and the experience of a vanilla interior closely matched to High Hrothgar itself. By 'study', it's really meant to be a sanctum of contemplation like one might find in a real world monastery. The Greybeard's collection of books was relatively small, and I didn't want to clutter it just for the look of having clutter so the player could populate the shelves as they chose. But some tweaks to decoration and lighting might be possible if I get an itch to return to Skyrim.

The space is amazing and well done for this type of mod and where its place inside the main build. You made some very nice touches to the place but still is empty feeling and coldness. I love the fire pit and space could do with a hot spa or spring some more lighting and fireplaces around each wall maybe to give a warm feeling of heat coming into the hall:) But since there been few mods done with such a super lore friendly touch! Love it all in all for what it is:) Kudos and well done :) I going to keep it for my game thankyou:)

Is it build in the actual High Hrothgar cell or we need to go through a door to access the actual player owned space? Maybe I can help you a bit to make the player owned section or cell only available after the player is reconized as the Dragonborn by the Grayboard. Player can not arrive to the location and already own the place. Download my Stonecrest City mod and look out how I did to make the played owned house in the town only available when some point of the quest done.

An interesting idea, but I have a counterpoint: The Greybeards recognize your character as the Dragonborn before they set foot in High Hrothgar. They summon the Dovahkiin after the player absorbs their first dragon soul, and Arngeir actively addresses you as the Dragonborn immediately upon speaking. Unless you've got a wacky mod installed, you can't enter High Hrothgar without being met and regarded by the Greybeards as Dragonsouled. This is a longwinded excuse which basically means I got to skip keying the player's ownership of the cell to completing Way of the Voice, which you have to complete if you go to High Hrothgar in the first place. But thanks for your support on my first venture. Maybe at some point in the future I can introduce some ownership features like this.

To have less compatibilities issues with other popular mod, is to put the player owned section in a new interior cell. Trust me, I know that, my first mod ever, called the followers company (does not exist anymore), used a exterior cell too close to Whiterun, causing many compatibility issues with Whiterun overhaul mods. The ideal to make a modest mod is to search for a location less used by popular mods.

Actually, you can take a risk to build a mod in a cell(s) that already used by many mods, but your mod must be great, dropping jaw, to croch to other popular mods. Adding some quests, new npcs, new objects (you can use mod ressources, those that respect the game lore), might help you.

Curius question, did you remake the navmesh? Manny new modders forget that.

The only area this mod edits in High Hrothgar itself is the far wall of the hall containing the entrance to the meeting area. The mod's player home is its own cell, in the interest of avoiding any conflicts with the heavy scripting in vanilla High Hrothgar.

@ElAhrairaha - Is this compatible with Thunderchild? It adds a library to High Hrothgar too so just want to make sure it isn't the same cell. Interesting looking and I really like the Prayer sanctum too. Excellent idea, endorsed.

I don't have Thunderchild installed so I can't say for sure, but if it modifies the meeting hall wing then it might. I'll check and create an optional file that moves the door if so.

Cool mod. Follower friendly, could use a bigger bed. Follower did sandbox nicely. Good space, not over-cluttered. This is a cell accessible through a door. Endorsed.

As much as I do agree with the little blurb, and I think it's a cool looking home.

That whole... Dragon-wall thing in the first two pictures made me giggle. Mostly because I don't imagine someone making it, but rather the Dragonborn going back to Bleak Falls or something, and physically extracting the dragon wall to drag it back home and put on display.
