after deleting too many 70Gbs folders trying "not to my taste" retextures aka "radical visual design changes" which I'm not interested in I installed this one and just spent 30min running around in ruins trying to find something odd or out of place...didn't find one it looks as if it was always like that, this means it's good like the nordic ruins finally someone who retextured without sliding into a parallel universe ;) great job !
Is there a comparison anywhere of the textures here and the ones from Underground - A Dungeon Texture Overhaul?
Underground covers all but 2 of the textures this mod does, but I have no idea what they look like side-to-side. It'd be cool if there was a comparison anywhere.
Any chance of an overhaul for the Apocrypha (Dragonborn) textures? Those haven't been touched by any mods in the community that I'm aware of, be it SMIM/Vivid Landscapes/Skyrim HD.
A wee bit late reply to this comment (decided to do a visual overhaul of my Skyrim and only just discovered lazygecko/lazyskeever's wonderful mods!). If you haven't already, may want to check out ObsidianStag's "Detailing the Eldrich - Higher-Res Apocrypha - Temple of Miraak - Black Books": http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/45782/?
This is not what it's about. he means about Dwemer Ruins in Dragonborn Fahlbtharz Kagrumez Nchardak They have a different directory and no one else has done these textures: textures\dlc02\dungeons\dwemer
I guess SIMM hasn't done these meshes? Honestly I'd consider getting in touch with that mod author and seeing if you can get it merged into the main SIMM mod, it's one less separate entry in the mod list and your work will be "seen" by so many more people.
I like to test them out against or for, depending on features and looks. I have seen some pieces from various sets of textures superior to another so using MO I usually will install it and let it overwrite it. I move it to see other possible overwrites, either for or against the mod to see what I'm gaining or losing visuals wise. Is this SMIM compatible?
I use Langley's Texture workshop, and mix it with other Dwarven textures and have achieved a really interesting look. Using Mod Organizer start the game and study what it looks like and then do the opposite allowing it to be overwritten. I found a mix of those Dwemer Metal Retexture and the Ancient Dwemer Metal and it looks phenomenal together. Using MO just hide, delete or better yet move the file with the Open In Explorer Option (right clicking on left pane of MO) and move it somewhere safe or back it up. Simply move it back if you do not prefer the other texture. This will compliment those nicely.
I'm going to try it out and see what it looks like. I really like your other work and use most of them in my games. I can tell you some of these textures look excellent together and really fill the game out well.
Thanks skeever again for really amazing work all around. Endorsed too.
Edit: Forgot to add, in this file are there corrections of some of the transition pieces? I see horribly misplaced areas in the game in vanilla (Where sections do not add up or are misaligned) and some mods address this and I'm not sure if there is even a list for it but I can imagine a pieces that fixes small transitions and meshes that don't really align would be a killer mod
Would you consider doing an "interior-only" version? The FPS at interior locations is much higher, so it is easier to to install hi-res textures for objects that you see in interiors.
