Not true. It's a basic question of mathematics. If whatever damage comes back at you from his "Reflect Blows" perk is more than your current health level, you die. Very simple and unceremonious. No songs sung.
ilovecarpet, i dont use exploits, like the glitch you sad or the Potion exploit. i made myself : gauntlets, armor, necklace and a ring that increase smithing by 25% each and i have the smithing-tree full, i didnt even used the game potions (because of lazyness)
in general (and not bugged playthrough) what Hallodria says is correct, its just mathematics.
i know, i refered to it as a bug because it was not a 10% chance as it should be and it didnt make any difference with what i hit him if i used my upgraded dragonbonesword or my not upgraded iron dagger i died on full health instantly after a few hits
and if i used the shout marked for death, this effect was triggered faster. i defeated him once with no problems, with a other character, but after i got the bug, i made a mod to fix it.
but i did not took his perk from him, you can still be killed by it, its only a real 10% chance now.
i just uploaded it here for others,who could have the same experience

You can kill the EW even with melee as long as your weapons are not overpowered AND you're not using power-attacks. I knew about his perk beforehand so I made a special Daedric mace at the forge and when I upgraded it, I did not use any smithing buffs like potions, nor enchanted gear. Just a slight upgrade. I also used poisons (alternating between weakness to poison, because he's 50% immune to poison, and poison of damage health). It was a fun fight You should also use a shield (as well as some perks on the block tree) and some +block enchantments will help. Now all you have to do is fight patiently and get out of the way when he starts shouting...
But on a general note I feel the Reflect Blows perk is inherently broken and very stupid. So much so that I won't even take the perk anymore in future playthroughs. In my humble opionion someone should fix the perk so that it reflects the actual hit damage (as opposed to a percentage of the damage taken by the player after armor reduction) and of course the reflected portion should be subtracted from the damage taken by the player. But I'm rambling again, this has of course nothing to do with this mod.
cool tactics you got there. but i feel a little misunderstood here, i beated him once with a other character without problems (several times just for fun)
and got killed a few times because of his perk, but on this playthrough it was so extreme it had to be a bug.
and as i sad, my mod does not take this perk away, its still there and used by the ebony warrior, the armor is fully there and still heavy armor.
