    Only install ONE main file
    Core files plus billboards are for DYNDOLOD or TES5LODGen users. Either program required for mixing this mod with other mods that change vanilla pines
    more patches, performance version and updates forthcoming

    Update with 3D trees finished:
    - removed vertex colors from landscape meshes
    - removed or disabled all flora, grass, and clutter from the ash desert between Attius Farm and For Frostmoth
    - replaced all ash and dead ash trees with 3D models. Static object dead ash pines also replaced
    - fixed landscape seams and floating trees
    - added LOD for ash dunes, docks, and dead ash static trees

    Please note: all mods that change vanilla pine , dead pine, and snowy pine in Skyrim will effect Solstheim. Therefore to make THIS mod compatible with said other mods, you will need billboards and a program like DynDOLOD or TES5LODGen to regenerate the tree LOD

    Patches are available in the optional files section for the following mods

    Skyrim Flora Overhaul version 2.80
    Dark Forests of Skyrim - Full version 3D-1
    All Dead Trees (3D version only)
    Fantasy Forest Overhaul version 4.0

    Note: If you are using the regular Dark Forests of Skyrim (not Full version) then no patch is needed. Only the FULL version of Dark Forests of Skyrim needs a patch as it changes vanilla trees, including those pines on Solstheim.
    - The patch for All Dead Trees (3D) and DFOS -FULL are the same file, as the make exactly the same changes (i literally merged the plugin from ADT with DFOS to make the FULL version of the mod)
    - Also, tree mods that only effect aspens do not need patches. No aspen trees are used on Solstheim and DFOS SA does not place vanilla aspens there either

    Hey! sorry to bother but im having a problem on the LODS, some of the LODS are purple like missing textures

    I like this mod but I have observed such a problem that the models of trees in the distance are purple but when you approach them they become normal.If anything, I use the version without Lod.If anyone knows the solution to the problem I will be grateful

      Yes please, I got the same problem. Are you using Skyrim Flora Overhaul? It is version 2.81 so maybe it requires a patch...

      I use EVT and i have got purple lods as well. But im certain that this issue is related to some of thoose trees (or mushrooms) near raven rock, other areas seem fine though.

    Took a peak at some of the meshes, a lot of them have either no collision or makeshift collision, in particular the large Sheogorad Mushrooms, you can walk right through them. Confirmed in 3DS Max, just FYI

    Just want to comment about compatibility. It's more or less compatible with Solstheim The Lost Levels, Better Tel Mithryn, and Quaint Raven Rock, as nothing from this mod will break those, however, you must load this before those. Because much of the landscape textures were deleted to create more of an ash look, the landscape textures won't match up in many places. Also, trees clip into the north wall in QRR and block a cave in the Lost Levels near Raven Rock. Basically, most mods which affect the landscape in some way will need a patch to make everything look like it's supposed to.

    what is the difference in the 2 main files? one seems to have lod and the other a terrain folder. don't i need both of those? i take it the lod folder is billboards (i don't know what those are lol) so with lod i don't need terrain or vice versa?

    and what exactly is a 3d tree? the nifs seems about the same sizes as my other tree mods for main skyrim

    So as beautiful as this update is, it's a performance killer (at least for me) with the 3D trees. For now I've just replaced all the models with some trees from other mods, tweaked the LOD and it looks pretty ok. I'll upload some screenshots once I fix a new issue with my ENB. The ash wastes, mushrooms and dead trees all look so great!

      An optimized version with lower resolution textures is in the optional files section.. Also, please post your specs so users can have some coxtent. I use this mod with 2K textures and ENB and have no issues on my rig

      Nvidia GTX 960 4GB GPU, AMD FX 8350 CPU, 8 GB of RAM.

      3D trees, like SMIM and similar mods, have always been "a luxury I can't afford" because I prefer to play with a trimmed-down "gameplay" version of Snapdragon ENB which usually yields me 45-55 FPS outdoors. Textures are a non-issue because I can resize those myself. But when a tree is more than twice the size of vanilla in terms of polygons and has repeated instances of itself in a certain location, well, that's where the issues start. Again, I love this mod and changing out some trees is easy peasy for me now. So I apologize if my comment was initially misleading to other users. People with better computers, you can run this without a care in the world probably.

    Any particular reason for this not to be used on SSE ? I converted the meshes, saved the pluggin in the CK64, should be ok, right?

    EDIT: I see superb variation and great new models on the island but the textures are a bit low resolution 1k. Do you have higher 2k or 4k available? Thanks again.

      Well you just answered your own question about why it's not for SSE. I didn't make the textures used in this mod so no high res.

      I took all of my mods off of the SSE nexus because people kept complaining about the texture quality. That's not in my ability to fix and I just use resources available on nexus to make all of my landscape overhauls.

      Well now you can use a better version of this mod, with your own trees. I modified them in nifskope to add replace snow textures with ash, also changed up the barks on ashy trees. You have really saved the day with these wonderful models and I can't thank you enough for allowing me to use them..

      Also, someone ported the old version of this mod to SSE with the old models. I'm hoping they will do the same for the 3D version.

    is this mod compatible with skyrim simply bigger trees and the Tree LOD skysight simply bigger trees?

      If there are billboards for those mods then you can use either TES5LODGen or DynDOLOD to make them compatible. LOD replacers in general will not be compatible as they do not account for the trees I've added
