From the pictures i see, it seems that you made them shorter than even the bosmer... sorry but i have to say that the dwmer were actually about as tall as any typical man or mer.
Technically, Dwemer are a variant of elves, according to the lore, and the height of High Elves. Although the Imperials and Giants call them Dwarves, the Dwemer are not true Dwarves, like those in LOTR. Members of this custom race should be called Dwarves and not Dwemer.
Actually in the TES lore the dwemer are elves. The world Mer means elf, you can note this word in the termination of all elven races BosMER (wood elf) AltMER (high elf) FalMER (Snow elf) DunMER (Dark elf) and of course DweMER wich means deep elf. The lore says that the dwemer are called "small people" in the registers of the giants, but for a giant... well, everyone is a small people. The conclusion is that the Dwemer are mistakenly taked for dwarves, but they are actually elven.
Why only these ugly races. Quick and useful to create anything !. There are still many races to create endless possibilities. Just one example: snake-like, that is, Top humanoid, bottom snake. Or a fight spider, top human with eight eyes and eight legs, etc. Examples visit the web plentiful
There's actually a snake race in TES universe in Akavir. Although whether or not, their form was argonian like or like a transformation form is unknown. But they're the closest one to your description.
Oh lord, I hope you've gotten some sense into you since 2015, but please just go play Black Desert or some other Korean crap game where the character's looks are more important than gameplay or actual lore.
I noticed a problem when I tried to edit my appearance after creation. For some reason, it won't let me change the eye color or hairstyle. It just gives ridiculous numbers on the sliders and the eyes/hair stay the same. I don't know if it's an incompatibility with a showracemenu mod or something else.
This also happens to me. But that bug appears when using any custom race. All vanilla races do work fine. I have no clue how to fix that but I assume it is caused by another mod. A year ago when I played Skyrim last time, I used to install many race and character customization mods and it didn't happen.
All I would suggest to this mod would be two simple things:
1. Shorten that description to roughly the size of the vanilla races', it's rather exaggerated; 2. Maybe include an explanation as to why a Dwemer is now a playable race, give him a reason to have avoided the vanishing: maybe he/she could be like Yagrum Bagarn, who avoided the vanishing because he was in Oblivion. That way, people won't say it's not lore friendly, because it's possible that more Dwemer escaped using the same method.
My suggestion would be:
The Dwemer were an ancient, "lost race", of Mer hailing from Dwemereth, which mostly consisted of modern-day Morrowind. They were advanced race and civilization, until the day all of them unexplicably disappeared. Having remained in a plane of Oblivion, at the time of the race's disappearance, allowed some of the Dwemer to return to Tamriel.
Should consider about this. And I think the skill set isn't really well balanced. Plus why there's conjuration there, Dwemer was also famous for their lock and traps. IMO : Smithing 10 Heavy Armor 10 Enchanting 5 Lockpicking 5 Block 5
