Wish someone would port this to SE and AE

It is already part of "sse engine fixes". It disabled by default, though. So you need to change RegularQuicksaves from false to true in EngineFixes.toml

    WTF!!!

After installing the mod, opening the ini file and setting the number, all the existing save files were deleted, leaving only that number.

It wasn't in the trash, it was just deleted!!!

During 2500 hours of play over 5 years, memorable highlights were blown away by this damn mod!!!!

I think this mod just failed to highlight it's counting all saves not only saves created by it

I know asking for a change this late in the game life is nuts...
but since in LE the quicksave problem is more that instead of deleting the file first then making a new one.
it tries to overwrite in a weird bethesda way...

could you add an option to leave the quicksave as is, and just intercept the f5 (users could change/disable the default key) and delete the previous quicksave before asking for the quicksave process.
that would pretty much fix the quicksave bloat and speed issues.
also making them less likely to get corrupted.

keep up the good work (n_n)b

Curious though... would this really avoid the troubles of damaged saves that autosave/quicksave are known to cause? I understood those problems stem from the game not being fully paused on a menu when it saves (thus allowing background processes to run while the save is being made / causing problems with the save).

Perhaps would it be better/safer if the F5 (quicksave) key was able to be remapped as a kind of "quickly pull up the save-menu" shortcut? I was honestly hoping to find a save-menu shortcut mod but didn't see any... which is a bummer...

Also, I should note that I'm still having CTDs on some saves I make with this mod installed that I pressed F5 to create... vs. not having those CTDs on saves I made from the save menu itself... which leads me to think my suspicion about this ineffective nature of this mod is true?

there is a common crash while loading. it has to do with animations more than the save itself.
one solution is having a "basic" save that has almost no mods or stuff added. load that and then load your latest save. usually you can load a lot of saves that you thought were corrupted.
you should try this also https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/85443 this mod removes most of those cases.

if the problem persists then at least you took 2 suspects out of the possible cause XD

P.S. I almost forgot. I think the basic save can work also if you save in a cell with no/or few npc's around (like breezehome or something with no living thing in there lol)

SSE Engine Fixes has an option to do this, replaces the hotkey quicksave with a regular save

Every time i should delete hundreds of saves created by this mod. We need mod that just deleting old quicksave and creating new one every time u press "quicksave".

I'm using SafeAutoSave 4.0 for this. I guess it isn't available on nexusmods anymore.

doesn't this mod have an ini line where you can set the max amount of saves before it starts overwriting the last one? because i'm pretty sure i had that set up
