Not sure if this mod is abandoned, but I can't seem to get Astra to follow me. Talking to it doesn't do anything sadly, I've pressed 'e' a thousand times. I'm using version 1.1 and have no other follower mods installed.
I love the idea of this mod, but I have a big question: when you say Astra is incompatible with mods that affect followers, just how incompatible do you mean? Like, if I ran EFF and Astra, would Astra simply not be affected by EFF's effects? Or would running the two mods at once magically transform my game into a desktop?
I don't know if you already know about this but there's an old Wisp follower mod called 'Varla'. Did you cross-reference with that mod or did you make this one from scratch? No idea why the wisp mesh would disappear at times. I never experienced that IIRC. I also don't quite get the 'attack animations' you mentioned in the description. Wisps just dive head first into battle but their attacks have no animations; they just float in melee radius to their target, dealing damage unnoticeably.
As for making the wisp look unique, you can add the Ghost Call of Valor Ability spell (forgot the actual name) to the wisp actor. It's a light blue smokey glow and I tried it with the wisp summons in my Equinox mod and they look quite cool.
No I did not know. I've just checked out Varla. It's similar to this mod that its a wisp companion but doesn't add the bonuses. There is also another wisp companion mod out there similar to Varla.
The disappearance is way off in the distance and is to do with the fade settings of Skyrim and the rendering of textures. It happens with other items/buildings/trees/creatures. Its just something noteworthy as my tester thought it was a bug.
The attack animations in my description are exactly what you've just described. I put it in the description because I had one of my testers exclaim that the wisp doesn't attack it just bob's at the enemy....I thought this was clear in the description?
I will take a look at the Ghost call/valor ability - thanks for the tip
Cheers and I do enjoy modding, once again thanks for your input and tips!
Been waiting for one of these for a long time, my Wispmother character was having to use an ice wraith follower but now she gets a wisp, so YAY! Also, is Astra essential? I can get into some pretty hairy fights and I would hate to lose her.
