This seems like a perfect way of adding a bit of creative bonus, especially for perk tree overhauls that reward the use of scrolls with improved magnitude like Ordinator!
I do have one concern though. Will this muck up with things like CACO, which does changes to the alchemy system, or is this a case of 'as long as they just modify the base ingredient, we're good?'
This won't impact any other mod, including CACO. It solely adds menu entries and formulas to the Sagecrafting table. Since it does not touch any assets at all, it's 100% safe to combine with any other mod.
It absolutely is. In fact, all you'd need to do is copy the recipes here into the ET mod itself. You can do that with TES5EDIT using the "Copy as new record into..." function, I'm pretty sure.
I'm noticing that I can't download it via the NMM button, NMM returns that it's unreachable, but the manual button works for the moment. If it persists after a while I'm going to ping the Nexus, as the upload might have broken. I tried re-uploading it to no avail.
Yup. Just one ESP. It would be trivial to merge with Equippable Tomes as well - all you'd need to do is merge the "Construcible Objects" types with tes5edit or wyrebash.
This sounds really neat, love any mods that thoughtfully add to the mage system. So tracking for now until I can play it ...
Just for clarification though, how is this mod meant to be used? Instead of using Magicka, with the role player using the restriction that spells can only be used if you have a scroll for said spell in inventory or??? Hopefully this didn't sound rude
The crafted scrolls are vanilla mage scrolls. They work just like vanilla scrolls do, and in fact most other scroll crafting mods you will find on the Nexus produce exactly the same scrolls. They have no magicka requirements to use once made, like normal. The key differences here are:
1) You can use the Sagecrafting table, which is buildable by the player and placeable anywhere
2) You have to invest the cost of the ingredients to make the scroll, some of which are rare, so it's unlikely to be a money-making venture, and instead is intended for adventuring mages to build a supply of scrolls on the ready.
No, but check out Bandoliers - Bags & Pouches. It has a wide variety of wearable containers, including mage-specific ones that have the aesthetics of pouches, potions, scrolls & the like.
This is my custom add-on to the Equippable Tomes mod, which allows you to craft vanilla scrolls using ET's sagecrafting table. I took the base recipe from the "Map Tomes" mod, and then added lore-friendly and vanilla-friendly alchemy or crafting components to the scrolls, for both immersion and balance.
It includes lore-based and immersive crafting requirements for the scrolls. All scrolls have at least one reagent requirement to craft, based on the tier of scroll and the resultant power of the spell involved. Master level spells will typically require an extremely rare alchemy ingredient, and summoning spells often require an ingredient related to the type of creature being summoned. All additional components are alchemy ingredients or crafting components of some kind, to give Mages a real use in collecting alchemy ingredients or participating in crafting.
You'll notice some recipies call for the extremely rare Fire, Frost, & Void Salts. It is worth noting, however, that all three of those salts can be crafted in vanilla, at the Atronach Forge, which is why I put those in here. The point is not for scrolls to be economical, but rather for them to be preparedness tools to get you out of a tight spot. If you want to dump a hundred Fireballs, you'd stick with a staff - if you want some portable fireballs in an emergency that fit in your pocket, that's where the usefulness of scrolls shine!
The specific requirements for all scrolls are:
1) You must know the spell 2) You need a Roll of Paper, Charcoal, a leveled soul gem, and:
RESTORATION Bane of the Undead - Wisp Wrappings Circle of Protection - Glow Dust Fast Healing - Bone Meal Grand Healing - Glow Dust Guardian Circle - Vampire Dust & Glow Dust Heal Other - Bone Meal Repel Lesser Undead - Ectoplasm Repel Undead - Ectoplasm Turn Greater Undead - ECtoplasm Turn Lesser Undead - Ectoplasm Turn Undead - Ectoplasm

wryebash might also be able to merge them easily.

like the idea of a decent logical scroll crafting though
