I'm so sorry that I haven't been available to respond to comments and errors over the course of the year. I think most of us can say that 2018 was a rotten and crazy year for planet Earth, but that held especially true for my family.
Starting around December 2017 to January 2018, my grandmother started having mobility issues. She's now in a nursing home, and we don't know how much longer she has left. My father-in-law, who has been very ill for the last few years finally passed away in May 2018. And to top things all off, my city was one of the many areas affected by Hurricane Florence in September.
So with all the grieving, hospital visits, the government shutdown, and hurricane related chaos, I truly have not had the time to dedicate to keeping up with maintaining my mods and responding to comments. And for that, I apologize for the decision I'm making.
Until life seems to settle down for my husband and I, I'm going to lock the comments sections of my mods.
It really bothers me to do this, as I feel like I'm cutting myself off from the people who want to enjoy using my mods. But I spent today reviewing comments that we left unanswered nearly a year old. That is simply unacceptable and unprofessional.
From now on, my mods are unfortunately offered as is. If there is a serious issue, just PM me and I'll make a judgement call if it is something I can tackle. But if not, I'll add it to my "Nexus TO-DO list" for when life stops throwing me rotten lemons.
You guys have been absolutely wonderful. I'll still be lurking on Nexus to check out what's made the Hot Files for the week. But, otherwise, this is
I just wanted to thank everyone who has downloaded my mod and a special thank you to those who have endorsed me and the mega talented individuals who have provided the resources that I literally wouldn't have been able to do this mod without! I'm still learning a lot about modding as I continue to work behind the scenes on this and if anyone has any issues at all while using my mod or simply wish to provide their insight and suggestions, PLEASE do not hesitate to contact me! I'm literally online every day!
I've uploaded a small update today and the changelog will have the details!
I'm still working on the possibility of new drinks and maybe even some custom ingredients (mmm... strawberries...) but I'm still far off from that! I'm very interested in the concept of adding a coffee shop in Solitude at some point, but I have NEVER made a building, or NPCs (insert hipster Breton barista meme here), or anything of the like from scratch before so... don't hold your breath!
(Seriously, if anyone wants to volunteer to do a co-op hit my inbox up)
Anyway! Thank you all SO much for your continuing support and I hope to report back again with some new goodies!
YMMV, but I found the portable kettle didn't function as intended. It was easily fixed by replacing KK/BB's campplaceablemiscitem.pex with the newest version from Campfire's BSA. I'd imagine loading Campfire after KK/BB would also work in the same way if one doesn't feel like messing with decompiling.
As a big tea fan myself, I was still content with the "mainly alcohol" approach Skyrim took, considering that was all we drank in the western world for a long period. That said, screw it, this mod is charming, a lot of work went in it, and it deserves to be appreciated. Thanks!
in MO, unpacking the .bsa and repacking/installing over the mod and setting the file to "hidden" also seems to work (logically), the drawback is having loose files though. I'll mess with decompiling a bit later, with more time:-)
I am SO sorry that you had some issues with getting the mod to work. But thank you for your positive comments about the mod! If you find any more issues, it'll be much easier to PM me directly and we can work something out. Thanks so much!
I edited your RND patch to be compatible with USLEEP, also added the Frostfall warmth keyword to the tea and coffee, but not the juice. I would like to make it available to you.
You might want to upload this yourself. The permissions mention any third party patches or updates would need permission if they used any of the assets, but I am guessing yours is probably just a simple patch/esp file. If it is just esp file you should be good to go.
Is there any chance you'd upload this edited version? Or if you have uploaded it since posting this, give us a link? The only thing stopping me from using this mod is the fact that it wants the outdated version of USLEEP instead.
Super sorry for the later reply, but if you still have that patch available, you are MORE than welcome to upload it to the Nexus! PM me a link and I'll add it to the front page of Kam's Kettles description! Thanks!
Not sure why, but when this mod is enabled in my load order, campfire's object placement system won't trigger. As I've used it with no problems in the past, I think it must be an incompatibility between this mod, campfire, and a third, yet undiscovered mod I'm using. Just thought it was worth mentioning in case anyone is having the same problem and pulling their hair out trying to find the incompatibility. I am in no way expecting a fix, and certainly not without hunting down the other offending party.
It's sincerely a fantastic mod, though. If I had the energy to figure out the whole picture, I'd likely keep it over whatever else is mussing up, but alas. I am but a spoonie.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having troubles with getting the mod to work! Drop me a PM whenever you get a chance and maybe we can work something out? Thanks!
I've encountered Warm Drinks which is very similar to this mod, but I don't know if Warm Drinks is a complete copy of this one as I don't know which one came first.... Or if there is different recipes and mechanics at play.... Just thought I mention it. (I'm also going to post a nearly identical statement with Warm Drinks.)

I did take a look at the Warm Drinks mod. My mod came out first, but there seems to be enough differences between Kam's Kettles annd Warm Drinks that it isn't just a straight up copy! But thanks so much for bringing it to my attention. c:
I love that this adds more than just coffee and more than just tea. I had Elianora's coffee mod and the Herbal Teas mod installed so long I forgot they were mods until SSE. I just feel the need to carry around snacks and assorted drinks with me. And who wouldn't want a cup of honeyed dragon's tongue tea? You'd have to be a mad reject of Sheogorath to not appreciate tea. And making tea out of the local flora is just so nice.
I think you could do a few more recipes with this as well: Frost Mirriam + Snowberries + Moon Sugar + Water = Saturnalia Sweet tea Blue Mountain Flower + Red Mountain Flower + Purple Mountain Flower (+ Yellow Mountain Flower?) = Mountain Tea Sleeping Tree Sap + Spriggan Sap + Water = Syrup Tea Ice Wraith Teeth + Apples + Snowberries + Frost Mirriam + Blue Mountain Flowers + Water = Nordic Iced Tea
etc.
Also, you might want to lower the duration on the effects; no tea except extremely potent medicinal teas (prescribed by medical professionals) would last 12 hours in the human body; 6-8 at the most. And where do you find coffee beans? Are they added to specific merchant lists or just to the world to be found, ie: in barrows/crypts, bandit caves, etc?
I'll definitely look into adding more drinks in the future! Thanks for your suggestions! c:
The coffee beans and bottles of water are sold by vendors like inn keepers and general merchants. But coffee can be a bit hard to find! It's very popular, and is coming all the way from Elsweyr.
I'm looking into maybe adding an NPC that specifically sells these new beverages, maybe a tea house in Solitude on Windhelm--the two biggest ports in Skyrim! But that's a much bigger project for the future. This is my first mod ever, so I'm still learning. c:
I've played around with your mod and tried to tie it to RND. Originally it was compatible per se, but it just restored hp etc without satiating thirst. Here's what I've done.
Adjusted all new recipes to use water flagons from RND. (When you use filled bottles etc at the cooking pot to get flagons of water.)
Apple juice: Instant 20 magicka restore slightly decrease thirst
I have yet to actually test the changes in game yet, I'll do that after I get some much needed sleep. In the event it does work, should I PM you the esp so you can upload it here?
Well I still have yet to get it to work. I don't know why in the hell when I set RND as a mod being used in the CK it saves the plugin I'm making as the patch not require RND. It also strips the decreasing thirst off of all the drinks but keeps my changes otherwise. I'm at a loss here, it makes no sense. It's hella frustrating to the point I don't even want to mess with it anymore. I need to play a little bit before I try and fix it. If I do fix it I'll pm you the file.
You're facing the same problem I was! CK is a little finicky. What you'll have to do is set RND to be an .esm file instead of an .esp (I assume it's an esp) with TES5Edit.
You'll just need to load RND with TES5Edit (right click the Master/Plugin box and select none, then RND to make your life easier), then click the little + beside RND. The very first item in the dropdown menu should be "File Header". Click on that. In the big right hand box, you should see a whole list of stuff. But all you'll need is the item about 3rd or 4th down called "Record Flags". Right click that and click "Edit". A window might pop up asking if you're sure you wanna edit. Click yes, and then you should get a window. Click the checkbox that says "ESM". Hit okay, then hit CTRL+S to save the RND plugin!
Now CK will recognize RND as a master file and the patch you're making will state that RND is a prerequisite. The downside to this is that... you might have to start all over, now that you've forced CK to acknowledge RND as a master file. :c I've had to deal with that for the past 4 days until a google search showed me the light.
I'm not saying that I'm gonna quit modding, but this "tiny" project has shown me why so many often quit. XD

Goodbye, Nexus.
Hello, Nexus!
Bareraud's Brews, the successor to Kam's Kettles, is now open for business!
The two mods are incompatible with each other since the BB does the same thing as KK.
Come on over and get some cake!
An update on what's to come. c:

THANK YOU.
You nailed it. Much appreciated. This is so very thoughtful. Appreciated even more.
why does the RND version ask for the obsolete unofficial Skyrim patch and not for USLEEP? Can't use your mod because of this
LOOT says:
Campfire-Kettle-RND.esp A63AE8EF
This plugin requires "Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp" to be installed, but it is missing.
Oh, and I can't open a bug report since NMM says I haven't downloaded the file. Funny, have downloaded it multiple times....
EDIT: after 6th download I could open a bug report now...
