Hello there! XB1 player here, and an avid house decorator since Oldrim first released. Sadly, Skyrim's always been the biggest chore to decorate out of the open-world Bethesda games due to numerous bugs and bad design choices, so anything that helps the process is very welcome. The ability to make decorative objects static would be a godsend, especially now that I have access to both modded houses (which don't always have the best pathing), and the ability to pack those houses with hang-around NPCs who just love to walk over tabletops and bump into anything they can find.

I was hoping you'd be interested in porting this mod to the XB1. From the description, it seems like the way you've got the ability set up would be a good fit for the console, not requiring SKSE or a keyboard interface. Thanks very much for you time, and let me know if there's anything I can do to help the process or encourage you!

Great idea. I've been using Jaxons Posistioner since it first came out but locking items will be much easier your way. Thanks

Hey, nice work none the less, but there's already a mod out, that lets you reposition AND staticify any item in the game, even furniture and misc items added by mods with just some simple hotkieys. You can even staticify the whole place you're in via MCM menu: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52583

Sorry for that, but before you put your time into something that's already solved, while you could be doing something else instead I thought I'd tell you. ^^"

I was aware of that mod beforehand. However from what I know that mod makes item static by setting items to " Don't Havoc Settle ", which works for not having items rattle around with other items, but they can still become unstuck if you bump into them or shout at them. He may have also set up Collision Boxes around items to at least partially prevent that. I could be wrong about his techniques, but that's what I assume his mod does.

In either case I decided to make this mod as a much simpler version of Jaxons Positioner. You have one spell, and can toggle items between static and not static.

It will also have the advantage of working on Consoles and without SKSE when Skyrim Special Edition comes out in a month.

Nah, items locked with Jaxonz are truly locked. they have collision enabled, as long as you do not lock them, which means, if you try to place them too near next to another object, then the other object gets kicked away as usual. And, if you have locked everything (for example in a shelf) and you bump into it, everything stays as put. If you do not lock the shelf too, everything you forgot to lock will still be scattered around you if you bump into it. I just checked that a few days ago, because I was wondering why my bookd looked misplaced after ramming the bookshelf accidently. (As I do not lock books when I just throw them into the 'container'. You can still interact with locked items, and you can still pick them up.

Anyway, I don't know about the special edition - If it would work with SKSE or not, what mods would work and which not. Sadly, Bethesda is keeping it a big secret. If it is only graphical and lighting stuff then I assume that everything except lighting and / or weahtermods should work. I still hope that they adress some of the bugs USLEEP does and all that stuff. Otherwise I don't think it'd be worth it, as with all the highres texturepack, mesh replacers, lighting and weathermods the game is treated much better anyway. I'm curious though. I'll get it for free anyway.

As for your mod: It'd be cool if it would enhance the default grab and hold stuff, as it is a pain in the you know what, but I fear this is just not manageable without scripts. I come into places where everything is scattered around the floor so often (Because Nords seem to be very uncultivated beings! >.< and I just HAVE to clean up behind them and tidy everything up. xD It'd take ages witout Jaxonz'. :S
Would be funny though if one could use your spell on NPCs to turn them into statues. They make a much better maneqin anyway. (At least some of them. xD) Wouldn't do good on quest NPCs, but that's everyone's own responsibility.

Oh and - I didn't mean to discourage your work in any way, just sayin'.

Edit: Oh and just to make it clear: Would your mod remove the 'pick up' option from static-ified items? Because that's something Jaxonz' can't do and would be very handy to be used alongside or standalone.

I guess one advantage to my mod is that items won't be moved around, no matter what you do nearby.

Also, yes my mod does actually remove the "pick up" message on items.

      Okay, THAT's some great news.
So I'm gonna track it. If you found out how to do this on misc items and stuff it'd definitely be a must have alongside Jaxonz, as the 'pick up' option can be very annoying if you have a lot of stuff placed somewhere.

      Keep it up. ^_^

You mean to tell me that I can set Dawnbreaker on my table in Heljarchen Hall, and I won't find it 3 days later bouncing down the steps in Markarth? Not yet? Still, this is awesome.

Yes I will get to Weapons and Armor eventually, and that will be exactly what you can do.

I have been hoping for something like this. I can't wait till you add more items that can be made static. Keep up the good work!
