Good thing I've found this! That trace at Katla's farm was VERY annoying (mostly because it reminded me of the dumb thing I did, which was putting HB Divining knives into my horse's inventory). And since I barely ever used Clairvoyance anyway, the complete uselessness of it from now on is fine in my opinion.

Hmm. I've got to wonder, there probably should be some method for creating a replacement for the clairvoyance spell that doesn't suffer from the same bug; perhaps have the spell spawn an actor that paths towards the nearest quest objective, but despawns after a few seconds/enough distance from the player, so you won't end up with infinite actors over time.

You can already summon an actor with the familiar and atronach spells, it would probably be reasonable to use the magelight visual effect for the actor's appearance, and I'm reasonably certain that it should be feasible to direct the newly spawned actor to path towards a given quest target.

I could see this being of use if the last save you made before you died had this issue.  I would be extremely annoyed to see a permanent CV snake burned into my save.

I wonder if someone could come up with an "Eliminate CV Snake" spell that would eliminate the object from the world?  Something you could cast on it to make it go away?  Check to see if the target is a CV snake and eliminate it if it is one.

That would be a simple fix, if this was an ordinary problem. Unfortunately, this is an issue with the game engine itself, not an effect or script or anything else. The only way to actually fix this problem would be to fix the engine, which only Bethesda can do. Once a game is saved with the spell active, the visual effect is baked onto the world, but it isn't actually attached to anything. The game no longer considers it an object or effect of any kind. You cannot interact with it on any level, since there isn't anything there as far as the game is concerned. Since you cannot interact with the visual effect with the console (because it technically doesn't exist), there would be no way for anything else to interact with it.

It is literally impossible to fix this unless you work for Bethesda.

You're right - if it was that simple, it would already be fixed.

But this is not a fix to a bug, but rather a workaround to simply hide the visual effect, right?

It's not the fix technically. You still won't be able to use the spell. But whatever... I suppose there are players out there that will be thankful even for such workaround.
      Good job

@criosray wasn't trying to insult you, or be any kind of nuisance. They were trying to better understand what the mod does. They even complimented you on doing a good job.

You'll get some comments from time to time that are negative, and even some that can be hurtful, but comments are essential to know if your mod is working, to see if people have any suggestions or issues getting it to work. There are those that don't fully understand what it does or how to use it, especially if they are new to mods. The best plan of action here is to just ignore the people that you disagree with or are causing problems, and delete their comments. Replying to them only serves to escalate the issue. Remember that "Delete" option. It comes in handy, and can give you some serious peace of mind.

The only sure-fire way to prevent people from commenting on your mod is to remove the Comments section altogether, but that will keep those that are good willed and kind from interacting with you. If people couldn't comment, I would not have been able to help you.

Nevertheless, I'll teach you how to remove the comments section, if you so wish. It is your mod, and you can do whatever you want to with it. This can be achieved by editing the "Attributes" of your mod. Hover over the "Files" tab at the top of the page, then click "Manage your Files". Under your mod's name, click "edit attributes". Scroll down until you see "Commenting", and select "no comments allowed", then save your changes.

Just remember that you can always "Delete" a comment. It is usually the best way to get through these ordeals.

I'm definitely not insulting you or your work. Just pointing out why this is not a fix to a bug and why USLEEP team didn't fix it themselves - the bug is in the game engine and can only really be fixed by a Bethesda game developers...

Saving while it is active will make the effect stick around, even if the spell is no longer applied to the character. Simply removing the spell through the console won't remove the effect on screen, it only makes it impossible to create more Clairvoyance lines on top of the one that is stuck. If you'd rather stop using Clairvoyance altogether than you would lose your save, all you can do is remove the effect from the game and stop using the spell. Otherwise, your only choice is to start a new game and lose all of your current progress. This is for existing saves only.

If you don't have this issue, or if you don't use Clairvoyance at all, you don't need this mod. This was made specifically for those people that have this problem, and would rather not lose their save due to its constant annoyance. If this isn't useful to you, don't use it. Don't argue about whether or not it's useful in general. It wasn't made for you, anyway. This is how modding works. Someone makes a mod designed for a select group of people, not the entire gaming community.

So far, fixing this issue has been impossible. No one has even tried to come up with a workaround, until now. It might not be the "perfect" fix everyone has yearned for, but at least it's a start. Five years in, and this is the only mod that I'm aware of that even attempts to address this issue. Not even the Unofficial Patch fixes this, if I'm not mistaken. I won't be using this (I don't use CV), but I thank you for doing what you can to help those that do need it. Don't pay any attention to the naysayers.

*As for deleting/blocking; you can delete posts by clicking the "Delete" option on the top right corner of a comment, and I personally wouldn't recommend blocking people, but there is an option for that next to their name on a comment.*

Thanks to you my friend, you are the only one who understanding me. And no, USLEEP didnt fixed it, i request to USLEEP author for this problem and he says "This is impossible to fix this problem, we cant do anything for this problem". ( Nobody fixed it, and even most of modders dont know this problem). After that, i didnt give up, and struggle too much and i solved this problem that way. I am happy for helping to the people have this problem. I maybe rather didnt upload this mod to nexus but i want to help everybody for this problem. This mod will help even in the future for players who have this problem, i am happy for this.

      @DeathMetalHHH
It's a good thing you uploaded it. Don't second guess yourself just because of a few people that don't understand the simple fact that not everything on the internet applies to them. Nearly 200 people have need of your mod, for one reason or another, so I say you should stick with it.

      @Hallodria
You should learn to not take things so personally. I wasn't patronizing or attacking you, or anyone else. I was explaining what this mod does, and who this mod was intended for. The author seems to have a limited capability with English (which isn't a bad thing), and I know how difficult it can be for some people to understand what is being said. I understood it just fine, so I was lending a helping hand. Perhaps some anger management therapy would do you some good.

*Also, DeathMetalHHH, I can help you with the main description page, to make it more clear what the mod does and how it works, if you so wish. It might help others better understand the purpose of your mod, and may prevent any issues like the ones going on right now. Just let me know if you'd like any more assistance. I'd be glad to help.

Nothing to worry about. You at least can construct a coherent sentence, which is more than can be said for many native English speakers. I'll write a description for you, and message it to you once I get the chance. After that, you can tell me if you'd like anything changed or added to it.

My guess of why it happens is that when saving, various things are paused such as the VM becoming frozen.
However, the clairvoyance-effect is reliant on input. The saving-process doesn't recognise this and tries to save the clairvoyance particle effect in the savefile. The only way that the particle data can make sense, is if it belongs to something (object, reference, etc.). So it snaps to the world.

Upon loading, the game doesn't recognise that the particles are called by a clairvoyance-casting-instance but rather reads from the savefile that it's part of the world. So it places it on the world. Therefore it's 'baked' in the savefile.

This issue probably also extends to stuff like ashes and such.
The fact that it unselectable in the console could support this.

This could be fixed is if the saving process is made more intelligent (which would also fix other bugs) or if the particles are flagged (if possible).

Just a laymens perspective though. I could be all wrong about this.

That would actually make sense, but I honestly don't know for sure. As for making saving more intelligent, that would require changing stuff in the game engine, which I don't think is possible. You could probably flag the particles themselves, but I don't know how one would go about doing it in relation to saving.

Please correct me if I'm wrong... but instead of deleting the CV spell from the game, you could just choose not to use it, no? I mean you have to make a conscious effort to cast it, it doesn't accidently fire all by itself. Nobody forces you to use it, either.
Another thing to consider is that you cannot complete a fine quest mod like Gray Cowl of Nocturnal without using the CV spell at least once.

Even if you hate the spell with every fibre of your being, you don't need to delete it from the game. You can open the console and type player.removespell 21143 - done. Not to mention you could choose never to learn it to begin with.

Hallodria, this mod make only invisible clairvoyance's blue line effect, not remove clairvoyance from game. You can see clairvoyance in magic menu and even you can see clairvoyance's effect in character's hand. That means, the game approve clairvoyance's casting in normally. It is the extremely rare in the game like gray cowl of noctural's clairvoyance moment. Even if you want to use clairvoyance effect in the Gray Cowl of Noctural's mod's clairvoyance time (that moment you have to cross over in the flames) uninstall this mod and after cross over, install again. This mod havent esp, esm or bsa file, this mod have only mesh file that make invisible clairvoyance effect, that means THIS MOD 100% SAFE for use.
And not, console command useless for remove clairvoyance's effect, this mod only cure for this bug.

And...for the sake of God, what have you been to you all the people! You say " Dont use this magic then". Please be understanding people, there is a brawl bug in Skyrim, then you say "then dont fight anymore in the game!". There was a deadly bug in the game, i struggle for it too much for understand what it is this bug, finally i fixed it in the game. Please be a little understanding people to me, please...

Ah so. That means the bug is still there, only you can't see it anymore. It's like cockroaches... you know they are there but you can't tell where exactly
Just kidding of course I have never felt the need to save while casting clairvoyance so I have never experienced this bug.

Yes, already the clairvoyance spell is annoying, has a lot of bug spell, this is the only way to fix this bug. If you havent this bug, you dont need to use this mod ( I swear if you had this disgusting problem, you would extremely hate clairvoyance and this mod would be savior for you )
