Hey, any time you want to make this into a steel 1H and 2H sword stand-alone mod to shut the mouths of the guards with their stupid iron sword comments. I'll be first in line to grab them hot off the forge. Ya, I mentioned 2H and you know the 2h Iron sword needs lovin' too and the iron swords do look better than the steel. Always have and always will with this mod!
Just letting off some frustration regarding the comments crap in the game.
truly an excellent work you have done looks so much better. I also have another mod this works so well with called "reforged" (weapons/arrows and armor) set up for all "vanilla" weapons n arrows you make stronger arrows/weapons buy combining 2 of whatever stage to make the next level such as 2iron swords reforge into 1 iron sword +1 2x+1 = +2 etc. (up to a +5) anyway this makes iron very much useable for the whole game THAT said and having a long history with actual combat usage of various swords etc "antique" weapons most weapons in Skyrim have a small problem with hilts/grips they are far to thin, the right size does vary a bit BUT for me and I have larger hands (not giant size) a grip is "ideal" in cross section at 1.25-1.5 by @1 inches. a cross section in an slightly oval shape not a circle (this is a tremendous deference when trying to keep your hold on it when fighting/blocking "ergonomic" as they say now-a-days. I have made several blades almost exactly like yours and they are wonderfully durable (don't break) and efficient (cut/penetrate)
so if you could make the grip a bit thicker to make it more "life like" for a sword for war (sabre, katana, etc), as opposed to a dueling sword (rapier/foil/epee) a very big deference in styles, one that kills vs. one that is more show than substance now-a-days.
again Your re-do is EXCELLENT, got your long bow too and it is a delight (I use "Skinripper's bow mod too") and these 2 mods work perfect together.
Thank You so much
You earned the endorsement and the kudo, wish it was not only once per mod author but for each mod.
I also think the full iron set should be done and then all the vanilla bows then the DLC's ok YES I am greedy, but in a good way. You definately have a huge future in modding weapons.
oh and the gold buckle was a very nice touch, classy
I really apreciate all this info your giving me . For now im working on the textures for the iron sets ( The bow was a pain to my eyes , so i changed it besides the project ). I will eventually get to the handle , but i dont have the time atm , im working on texturing alot now . Greatsword and dagger are the next in line
I will have to check out some stuff for the Dlc's , Im sure i can find some stuff that suits my style . If you have ideas , just let me know . I think i can sqeeuz in 1 more project ! , So let me know There will be an update later this week with different handles , Leather , Leather strips , Steel .
well for sure keep up the good work (the grip adjustments could be part of what is coming next? more a mesh thing yes?
and hopefully your future works will be "standalone and not replacer" as I like ADDING variety not so much just changing what is already in game as much of "vanilla" is fine and should be appreciated as is. but I also agree that the base "iron sword" while in vanilla form looked like an apprentice's work and even far below a Journeyman's let alone a Master's work. so replacing that is not a problem or maybe give us the choice in which to use by making both versions? But whatever please keep up with how You wish to make anything you make. Thanks
This is just amazing, are you planning to make this series to all iron weapons? If you are could you please please oh please extend this beauty to all weapons from all material types?
I will ofcourse do as much as i can ^^ its called Project I.R.O.N for a reason !! , I also did the longbow today , i think you will like it ( check it out ) , Just stay in touch , and i will keep you updated with my progress Thx alot , really !!
Beautiful! A weapon to be proud to use in battle against any foe. Is the handle color supposed to be leather? Raw-hide or leather would be enhanced with a nice cross stitched seam. It would look awesome and stop the sword from turning in your hand if the fight is really bloody.
If you would, I'd really appreciate it and would make use of the sword throughout the whole game. The iron swords have a far nicer shape than the steel swords do.
Hello !! I have made this dicision for a reason I used lower and higher aplha channels and this looked best , but thx for the tip I know it helps In some cases .
Wauw thx for the nice compliment !! Umm I think you can just dual wield them !! Its only retexture of iron sword so the mesh is patch by skyproc I think
Actually, that's the Nexus withholding the file from people while it scans for viruses. If it doesn't find anything suspicious, then the 0kb download will fix itself.
