This mod should be removed since it is covered in USLEEP. USLEEP is already mandatory for every Skyrim player (not an exaggeration). Do the right thing author and take this down so people aren't screwing up their USLEEP files.
This was fixed in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, making this mod mostly obsolete.
It would be nice to mention it in the description, as this mod would only be used by those who do not want USKP.
If users still experience this issue with USKP, they should first check their load order for things that overwrite USKP's files and then apply appropriate compatibility patches.
This is a good story. You might try modifying their possible equipment list so they have a chance of coming with one-handed weapons... in addition to some still swinging greatweapons, of course. That's just their style.

I can not even begin to tell you how disappointing it was to find the winterhold guards didn`t have their own shields.
